SAND. SEA. WAVE.

Blue, Ultramarine, Navy, Azure, Cerulean, Powder, Cyan, Turqouise, Sky, Teal,
Aqua are several of the many blues at the beach shores of Mati, Davao Oriental. Its white
powdery sand, deep blue and emerald seas around the island undoubtedly define
PARADISE.

With this gift of nature, Mati City is at the forefront of promoting beach tourism
as it wakes up to a glorious sunrise ahead of the rest of the country. This lends full
support to the thrust and shared major milestones in promoting the country around the
globe as a more fun destination. The city will lead the way for other local governments
in Mindanao and the rest of the country to followto rise, come out, bloom and begin to
grow!

Having gone through a great calamity for the past year, the 2014 search for Miss
Mati City will reflect not only the glorious beauty of the citys beaches but as well as the
vibrant celebration of the peoples resiliency.

To achieve this, the people will experience the sand, sea and wave as they wait for
the pageantry to set as if they were in the middle of the sea, gently rocked by quiet waves
into the mysterious dark of night, under a canopy of stars.

This is that night where people of Mati, from all walks of life, rich or poor, to
come together, party and celebrate the beauty of womanhood and see it as a place to
appreciate the richness of marine life.

Aesthetically, symmetrical and blue, green, and aqua hues shall be displayed, like
a tribute to the colors of the sea, showing a design sense not seen in other parts of the
Philippines.

About the Pageant

Be part of the excitement and thrill of the celebration of summer and the crowning
of our beautiful queens. The pageant prides itself by not only providing competition for
the beautiful ladies but as well as showcasing the bests of the City.

Miss Mati is a celebration of life and self-worth, of laughter, inner beauty and
outward charm. Our purpose is to give the young women the opportunity to display their
inner beauty, talents, philosophy and elegance. We seek to draw attention to their
achievements and motivate and encourage other women to utilize their full potential and
share a positive outlook on life with others.

This pageant strives to embrace women and present them in a broader light than is
the pageant norm. This event will bring a new dimension to beach tourism and celebrate
Matinian womanhood and displaying their beauty through the beach, fashion and music.
It is a search for beauty, intelligence and warmth other attributes of the quintessential
Filipino woman.

THE DESIGN


Often tranquil, but in constant motion, beautiful yet tempestuous, the sea has
always been a source of fascination and inspiration.

For this years pageant, love the way sea foam hues and organic, oceanic shapes
trend in the stages accessories, event design, and decor. Some of the more literal sea
prints, the use of natural materials like coral and sea glass in breezy hues of green and
blue, shells are certain to create a sophisticated, sea-inspired design.

The stage design draws inspiration from peoples love of the ocean, surfing,
skimboarding and an active lifestyle. Discover a means of converting ardent passion into
an elegant and very connected design that reflects the deeper values of a life lived around
the sea.

Pageant Highlights

PERFORMANCES AND PRODUCTION.

The pageant performances and production numbers will be very festive and
attuned to its beach party theme. It creates the perfect atmosphere through an upbeat fun
party music, surf sounds, steel drums to 8 piece band.

Beach lovers will be treated to the best of entertainment from the beaches as the
pageant will embrace games, parties, performances and exciting exhibitions from its
locals.

Bright moon, welcoming parties, warm lamps, spirits and music will literally and
figuratively illumine the whole evening.

THE COMPETITION.

Throughout the competition, it will seek to highlight and promote sustainability of
Matis water and coastline resources. Mati has hosted a number of sports events in
Mindanao such as the famous skimboarding competitions for males and females that had
played a great role in further opening Mindanao to foreign markets interested in sports,
eco-adventure and nature tourism.

Tourism now takes a more active role in the society so the candidates will imbibe
the advocacy of inviting more people to act as guardians of the citys natural wealth and
support the efforts of the local government as vanguards of marine life.

In achieving this, the candidates will take part in a tight competition featuring
beach wear by in-demand fashion designers, eye-popping colorful swimwear and elegant
gowns that display exquisite sea-inspired gowns.
