Concerned of: Integrating Technology into Teaching and Learning


The meaning of which is putting together technology into teaching and learning so that these will become one in learners education. To
specify- focused on introducing, reinforcing, supplementing, and extending the knowledge and skills to learners so that they can become exemplary
users of educational technology.
ET-2 will involve a deeper understanding of the computer as well as hands-on-application of computer skills. To infuse technology in the
student-teacher training, helping learners to adapt and meet rapid and continuing technology changes in information and communication technology
(ICT) environment.
The course objectives are:
To provide education in the use of technology in instruction;
To impart learning experiences in instructional technology supported instructional planning;
To acquaint students on information technology;
To learn to use and evaluate computer-based educational resources;
To engage learners on practical technology; and
To inculcate higher-level thinking and creativity among students.
REFLECTION:
Having these objectives applied in our studies in technology, we will be guided accordingly to what are the importance and primary used of
technology. These objectives also would instruct, acquaint and bring us to the higher level of Educational Technology.
It is always the trend for learners that in every lesson to be made perfect, one must follow the objectives. In the same way, we will be
enhanced and refreshingly excited in dealing with our learning in Educational technology.
Technology is not only used for recreation and playing, but technology is one important tool that would further enhance the way of
teaching and the acquiring of learning for a teacher and a student.
We are lucky that the integration of technology into teaching and learning is now in practice and included in the curriculum. With this, even
students in the pre-school will learn the value and importance of a computer and other technologies aside from the neophyte knowledge that a
computer is only for games and recreation.

Lesson 1: Review of Educational Technology 1
Content:
Lesson 1 tackles about the Review of Educational Technology 1. The EdTech 1 course as stated has paved way for students to become are,
appreciative and equipped to use educational technology ranging from traditional to modern educational media. This course served to orient the
learner to the pervasiveness of Educational technology in society, lend familiarization on how educational technology can be utilized as media for the
avenues teaching learning process in school, uplift the learner to human learning through the use of learning technology etc. The course has also
given us the opportunity to experience engaging ourselves more with technology use.
Experience:
We experienced using Photo story, creating exams through quiz maker etc. One of the best feature of this course is the hands-on
activities given to us which allow us to apply the things weve learn during lectures.
Reflection:
This topic has given us a short review on Educational Technology 1 which also let us recall the things tackled in Edtech 1 and eventually
be applied in EdTech 2.
Application:
EdTech 2 will serve as the continuation of EdTech 1 that will basically help us in preparing ourselves for a globally competitive world.


Lesson 2: An Overview: Educational Technology 2

Content:
Lesson 2 tackles about the overview of Educational Technology 2. It is concerned with integrating technology into teaching and learning. This
focuses on introducing, reinforcing, supplementing and extending the knowledge and skills to learners so that they can become exemplary users of
educational technology. Educational Technology 2 will involve a deeper understanding of the computer as well as hands-on application of computer
skills. The course is directed at enhancing teaching-and-learning through technology integration. The lesson had also presented the course
objectives like providing education in the use of technology in instruction by providing knowledge and skills on technology i ntegration-in- instruction
to learners, impart learning experiences in instructional planning, learn to use and evaluate computer-based-educational resources, etc.
Experience:
This course allows us to experience new things like doing/ learning how to use print screen, copy and paste it to MS word or MS
PowerPoint.
Reflection and application:
As said, the topic allows us to realize that this course enhance teaching-and-leaning through technology integration which will be later
applied in teaching students in a more fun and exciting way.

An Overview: Educational Technology 2
Obviously, the main concern here is the technology. But not the typical use of intenet, or not the way on how the students can acquire
the computer skills because it is not a computer subject. However, the real thing that talks about here is that how the teachers can incorporate the
technology and Internet with the successful learning. We all grew up with the traditional set-up of classroom, which, I suppose that everything the
teacher used is almost out-dated and obsolete. So, this subject will serve as an eye opener to the future mentors like me, on what is in nowadays, the
proper teaching in which appropriate to the needs and desire of the modern students.

Education needs to utilize and enhance its functions by making use of this technological advancements. Students learn faster, assignments
made easier and studying more interesting thru the use of computers and the internet. School administrators, department heads and other persons

Educational Technology 2 is a new course in the education curriculum which has to come about from the need to adapt to a changing world.
The need for information and knowledge before was provided by the books, print media, radio, and later the television. Now, so much advancement
has been made in the field of technology. We are now living in a world of computers, internet, laptops, cellphones, ipad and other technological
inventions.urse because they will be given the training and skills to use technology and its inventions as a tool for teaching and self-improvement.


REFLECTION

1. Many college students are presently required to take Computer courses including word processing (Microsoft Office), spreadsheet preparation
(Excel), presentation techniques (PowerPoint), etc. How do you think this will help application of skilss needed in Educational Technology 2?

Answer: This will help application of skills needed in Educational Technology 2 because this are the basic programs/software that is going to be
used in the Ed. Tech. 2 subject.

2. From those who have done internet surfing/searching/reading, what do the Websites offer users?

Answer: For me, INFORMATION is what the Websites offers to those who have done internet surfing, searching and reading.

3. Do you think there are enough websites for educational purposes? Do you think there are many users of educational websites?

Answer: Yes, there are enough websites for educational purposes. You just have to search it or ask someone who knows about this websites. For
now its very rare to see somebody using or visiting these sights. But I am very sure that it will increase as people get educated about the importance
of these websites.

Integration of the technology is the primary purpose of the educational technology.It can provide the future educators the literacy they
needed.How to do it the right way that it can help in the teaching and learning process.But the sad reality is that not all schools that offers education
courses can train enough the individual deeply,it's still depends on the availability of the technology in the areas.
Reflection:
I have learned that learning this kind of topic is very useful in our country and it also be a great use for professional teacher, school
administrator, teacher educators and in fact anyone who is interested on how information technology can be use to improve not only in instruction
but also in the management program curriculum. Through this I have learned that using technology can be a great help for us. It can also help us to
discover some inventions for the preparation for the next generation.

Application:
This topic can be applied in many aspects of living. Say for instance, it can be use by the persons that was mentioned above. Technology as
what we know can be use in many aspects particularly in the classroom management, teaching instruction ,business man, teachers, and students
and so on. If we only know how to use it properly and to whom can be use it, it can really change our lives. Through the knowledge that was given by
this topic it can help us to be expose to the next generation.

Overview of Technology and Education Reform

In the past, application of technology to education was often motivated by a desire to implement "teacher proof" instruction. Technology was viewed
as a "black box," something that could be bestowed on schools and classrooms from above. An increasing body of literature on technology
implementation efforts suggests that this goal was not only unrealistic but also fundamentally misguided. To be effective, technology and teachers
must work together to provide challenging learning opportunities. At the nine case study sites, technology serves the goals of education reform by
contributing to:
Student learning through involvement with authentic, challenging tasks
New roles for students and teachers
Professionalization of teachers
Creation of a culture that supports learning both in the classroom and beyond the school walls
Of central concern to this project is the use of technology as a catalyst for changing schools in ways that better support the acquisition of higher-
order skills by all students. Such uses of technology can have a particularly significant impact on the schooling of economically disadvantaged
students, whose educational experiences frequently have stressed repetitious rote drill on lower-order skills, with relatively little attention to the areas
of comprehension, problem solving, composition, and mathematical reasoning that will support both higher education and effective functioning in the
real world.

Content:
This lesson gives an overview of Educational Technology 2. Accordingly, Educational technology is concerned with integrating
technology into teaching and learning and it focused on introducing, reinforcing, supplementing and extending the knowledge and skills to learners so
that they can become exemplary users of educational technology.
However, educational technology2 aims to infuse technology in the student-teachers training, helping them to adapt and meet rapid
and continuing technology changes, particularly in the thriving global information and communication technology (ICT) environment.
Experience:
Implementing and using this technology is quite difficult since, theres an instances that someone could not afford to have one. We
do not have enough resources to acquire this new technology but I think theres always a way.
Reflection:
This lesson could help each individual to enhance their knowledge about the modern technology that we had. And it is a big
challenge for us as an education student to implement this new technology to our future students. Lets meet the rapid and changes of technology.
Application:
New technology are rampant in our society today especially those social networking. Its already common for some students
especially those in rural areas to have a PowerPoint presentation. To make it appealing lets be innovative, lets make what is the modern Power Point
today that could attract the attention of the learners. However, thats not the only way to teach and learn about the new technology.
