This year is of great importance to
al l of us for there are several
occasions throughought the year
when we are either hosting meeting, workshops,
conventions where architects, professionals are
coming to India from several Asian and Western
countries of the world, or professionals from our
country are visiting to attend International meets being
organized in different parts of the world. This has given
an opportunity to interact with Western and Asian
architects and professionals to enhance our vision
for creating the buildings of tomorrow with innovative
techniques which are parallel to the best in the world.
Another development of IIA is that it is playing an
important role for Patient Safety campaign being run
by ICHA in association with WHO World Alliance for
Patient Safety (WAPS). A series of meetings and
workshops in several cities throughout India are being
organized. This would be a great opportunity for
architects to participate in these workshops and be
a part of this campaign which will lead to setting
standards for patient safety in Healthcare Institutions /
Hospitals in our country.
Given the serious scenario of global warming and
the attention of the whole world over this issue, IIA is
committed in its endeavours to support for the cause
in whatever ways possible. Building architectural
marvels in our country must not be at the cost of
destructing greenery and natural habitats. To save
trees on the earth, several movements by scores of
organizations are being run. As a mark, we wish to
contribute in a small way of our own. Members will
find an APPEAL in this Newsletter under the heading
NEWSLETTER TO GO GREEN. This will give choice for
members to get the Newsletter by E-mail (in a user
friendly .PDF view format) instead of printed copy by
post. This will save us the paper being consumed and
hence the trees used for making paper pulp. It is
trusted that members will come forward to support
this cause by sending their consent for receiving the
Newsletter in the suggested format.
