Knowing & Doing Elohiym’s Will

(1) Psalms 40:7,8 “7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book [it is] written
of me, 8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law [is] within my heart.”
◊ Delight to do your will
(2) John 6:38 “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of
him that sent me.”
◊ Came down from Heaven not to do his will, follow example
John 4:34 “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me,
and to finish his work.”
◊ My meat is to do his will
(3) James 4:15 “For that ye [ought] to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this,
or that.”
◊ First really desire & mean it
(4) Ephesians 5:17 “Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of
the Lord [is].”
◊ Be not unwise to what El’s will very important
2 Timothy 2:26 “And [that] they may recover themselves out of the snare of the
devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”
◊ Devil a will that he wants to yield to People taken captive at Devil will
(5) Colossians 1:9 “For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it], do not cease
to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will
in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;”
◊ Paul praying that they would have a knowledge of what Elohiym’s will
was, in wisdom, and all Spiritual understanding
(6) Romans 12:1,2 “1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which
is] your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
◊ Present our bodies as living sacrifice, totally consumed of our goals,
desires, ambitions, holy sacrifice, transformed in our mind, take on his mind,
not conformed to this world what is he good, acceptable, perfect will of
Elohiym, to say this, there is a permissive will, him letting it happen and
through his perfect will. So we really need to know his will press into the
Spirit. Many think that they are doing his will
(7) Romans 8:26,27 “26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know
not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession
for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the
hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession
for the saints according to [the will of] God.”
◊ Spirit helps us pray according to do his will. Important that we ant ask
or pray for things that are according to his will, so it can build up our faith,
things that are not can hinder our faith.
Luke 11:2 “And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in
heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in
heaven, so in earth.”
◊ Thy will be done
(8) 1 John 5:14 “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any
thing according to his will, he heareth us:”
◊ So we can have confidence that according to his will, he will hear us.
Meditate and prove what we are asking him
(9) Titus 1:7 “For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled,
not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;”
◊ Not being self-willed, truly in serving him we must be willing to deny
our self, many don’t really preach this today, it’s not really received by many
(10) 2 Peter 2:10 “But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of
uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous [are they], selfwilled, they
are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.”
◊ If we walk after our flesh it shows we are selfwilled and actually
despise Elohiym’s authority, actually speak evil of his authority. Consider of
how
(11) Jeremiah 42:1-6 “1 Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son
of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least
even unto the greatest, came near, 2 And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we
beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the
LORD thy God, [even] for all this remnant; (for we are left [but] a few of many, as
thine eyes do behold us:) 3 That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein
we may walk, and the thing that we may do. 4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said
unto them, I have heard [you]; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God
according to your words; and it shall come to pass, [that] whatsoever thing the
LORD shall answer you, I will declare [it] unto you; I will keep nothing back from
you. 5 Then they said to Jeremiah, The LORD be a true and faithful witness
between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD thy
God shall send thee to us. 6 Whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil, we will
obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well
with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.”
Jeremiah 42:19-22 “19 The LORD hath said concerning you, O ye remnant of Judah; Go ye not into
Egypt: know certainly that I have admonished you this day. 20 For ye dissembled in your hearts, when
ye sent me unto the LORD your God, saying, Pray for us unto the LORD our God; and according unto
all that the LORD our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do [it]. 21 And [now] I have this
day declared [it] to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor any [thing] for
the which he hath sent me unto you. 22 Now therefore know certainly that ye shall die by the sword,
by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place whither ye desire to go [and] to sojourn.”
Here they came asking Jeremiah for Elohiym’s will, he told them he would ask for
them, they replied whatever it is, we will do it. But it wasn’t something they
really wanted to hear, they had already decided in their hearts what hey were
going to do. Should be a warning to us. Put some fear in our hearts, be broken
that he can really show us his will.
(12) Isaiah 30:9-11 “9 That this [is] a rebellious people, lying children, children
[that] will not hear the law of the LORD: 10 Which say to the seers, See not; and
to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things,
prophesy deceits: 11 Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the
Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.”
◊ Nothing new, people today still in same place refuse to hear his word.
Actually want deceit and lies, will not hear the truth. Or humble themselves to
do his will.
(13) Isaiah 1:19 “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:”
◊ So if we are willing and obedient to his will, he will bless us. Really
partake of his goodness
(14) 1 Peter 4:1-3 “1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh,
arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh
hath ceased from sin; 2 That he no longer should live the rest of [his] time in the
flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 3 For the time past of [our] life
may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in
lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable
idolatries:”
◊ We must arm ourselves in our mind to suffer with him so his will can
prevail in our lives, walking in the Spirit, fulfilling his righteousness, do his will.
Not walk with the will of carnal men, doing unrighteousness.
(15) Matthew 7:21 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into
the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in
heaven.”
◊ So it’s not to anyone, but those who do his will. We really see his will is
to keep his word (Ecclesiastes 12) whole duty of man, why call Adonai, Do his
word if you have me keep my commandments
(16) Matthew 12:50 “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in
heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
◊ Here he is putting rather frank who are my Brothers but those who
hear his word and do it. This could seem maybe harsh and cold, he is really
trying to make it very simple and clear
Luke 8:21 “And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren
are these which hear the word of God, and do it.”
(17) Luke 12:41 “And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not
[himself], neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many [stripes].”
◊ If we know his will important to be faithful and obey it, really be a doer,
nothing to take lightly, really need to be humble ourselves and be a doer of
his word.
(18) John 7:17 “If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether
it be of God, or [whether] I speak of myself.”
◊ If we do his will, we can know that his doctrine is of Elohiym.
(19) 1 John 2:17 “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that
doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
◊ If we do his will, we will abide forever, have eternal life.
(20) 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
◊ In everything, give thanks. Be content. Also it to abstain from
fornication.
(21) Colossians 4:12 “Epaphras, who is [one] of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth
you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and
complete in all the will of God.”
◊ Pray we can all stand perfect and complete in all of the will of Elohiym,
endure and continue in his will, be patient, we have a sure reward.
(22) John 21:18 “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou
girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old,
thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry [thee]
whither thou wouldest not.”
◊ Stretch forth our hands in prayer, mature and grow and let him lead us
into his will. We can see when we were young, and not mature, we were
selfwilled. A true sign of a mature Christian is when we are letting him lead us.
Acknowledge him and he will direct our steps. So let’s grow in Yeshua, put off
our old man and be crucified with him.
(23) Luke 22:41-43 “41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast,
and kneeled down, and prayed, 42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this
cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. 43 And there
appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.”
◊ So sometimes it takes some real grace to deny ourselves and lay down
our lives. We may actually need some great divine help in certain situations.
Can you imagine knowing you were going to have to lay down your life as
Yeshua was? Spirit willing, flesh is weak. Really need Elohiym’s help. Some it
may take a great amount of grace again, it is so important to be in a broken
place to let his will be done.
