Greetings in the name of our Lord esus Christ;
!hen the General Assem"l# of the Church of God Colorado Conference $oted during the Annual
Meeting in 2011 to a%%ro$e the Leadershi% Accounta"ilit# model of go$ernance for the Conference& it
'as 'ith the ca$eat that a three #ear (e)%eriment* for the model 'ould occur+ ,he time of transition
'ill "e com%leted 'ith our Annual Meeting -cto"er 24.2/& 2014+ At that time& the General Assem"l#
'ill $ote to officiall# em"race the Leadershi% Accounta"ilit# model+ ,he time that has "een s%ent in
transition 'as needed in order to understand 'hat it means to function 'ith (go$ernance* rather than
(management+* 0t has "een a rich time of learning& %ractice& and definite results that ha$e #ielded
efficienc# and effecti$eness+ ,o streamline the functions of the Conference has sa$ed a great deal of
mone# and time+ 0t has also allo'ed us to shar%en our focus on three areas of ministr#: 112 Church
3lanting& 122 Church 4italit#& and 152 Leadershi% 6e$elo%ment+ ,he Go$ernance 7oard has "een
functioning 'ith tremendous effecti$eness+
ANNUAL MEETING BYLAWS ADOPTION
-ne of the concerns 'e ha$e is that those 'ho 'ill "e $oting to em"race this model during the
u%coming Annual Meeting 'ill ha$e an understanding of 'hat go$ernance in$ol$es+ ,hus& 'e are
ma8ing an a%%eal that an# of our churches/%astors/delegates 'ith 9uestions 'ill feel free to contact
the state office/Go$ernance 7oard in order for their concerns/9uestions to "e addressed+ !e 'ant to
ma8e e$er# effort for our $oting mem"ers to "e a"le to $ote 'ith confidence+ ,hat can onl# ha%%en

our annual meeting generall# held in Anderson& 0ndiana+ ,his #ear it 'ill "e mo$ed to -8lahoma Cit#
on June 23-26, 2014+ ,he format of the meetings 'ill "e $er# different from the %ast+ ;ince this 'ill
"e closer geogra%hicall# for those of us in Colorado& it is desired that all of our %astors& as 'ell as la#
leaders& 'ill "e a"le to attend the (0nternational Con$ention of the Church of God+* ,hus& 'e ha$e the
o%%ortunit# to "e 'ith our ne' General 6irector& Re$+ im L#on in -8lahoma Cit#+
The Church of God Colorado Conference exists to facilitate
new and healthy congregations to advance the love,
acceptance, and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.
