Anomalies in vastu advice.

Vastu is a very difcult thing to understand if somebody is learning and using it

properly. Most of time I have seen people giving ideas on TV or in newspaper
without looking at the actual plot. The problem is that everybody is a
Vastushastri, without even understanding the basics of Vastu science.
Vastu reuires a very good study of astrology as well. The best Vastushastris
like Varahmihira were very good astrologers as well. Vastu will become a wild
goose chase for someone who does not understand astrology in a proper
manner. !or instance newer vastushastris recommend avoiding the entrances
from direction of "outh#west or "outh. $ut they do not know that these directions
are miracle directions for people of certain professions. This is because
astrologically every direction has a ruler. Mayamatta mentions the same in
several chakras which should be used in vastu. $ut most of the vastushastris are
either unaware of these chakras or they do not know how to use them.
Vastu Muhurta, directions, Ayaadi and all reuire a very good astrological
base. There are other anomalies as well. Vastushastris sometimes give their
opinion without going to actual plot. This is a very faulty practise. Actual site
needs to be seen to correct it according to vastu. %ven if you are the best
architect in the world, you cannot design building without actually seeing the
topography of the real plot. The same is the case of Vastu. Vastu is highly
dependent on proper orientation of true north and magnetic forces in the
area. This cannot be understood without visiting the plot in person. %ven a slight
variation in directions can bring a ma&or problem in orientation. That is the very
reason why ancient "thapatis laid so much stress on dik sadhan. There are
other problems in vastu which are not clear in ancient 'ranthas.
(ne of them is related to orientation only. )lots are generally aligned to roads
and government does not build roads according to orientation. "o plots cannot
be oriented and aligned to directions. )ad vinyas which is related to this process
cannot be done when orientation is improper. I have worked on it but there is no
solution to this problem and it is not even mentioned in any shastras.
"econd problem which originates from the above problem is related to )ad
Vinyas. Ekshati pad reuires proper divisions based on directions and
orientation. As process number one remains in doubt when roads are not proper,
so process number two cannot be done. In spite of all this I have seen
vastushastris making fool of general people. I have also seen people changing
the interiors of *ats according to vastu. The reality is multi-storey fats cannot
be constructed if we follow the rules laid down by Mayasura in Mayamattam.
There are some more people who are selling pyramids on the name of vastu. (ne
of my clients+s bought them for ,---- .s from a famous seller in 'u&arat named
Jiten or Jeten. It was amusing as he e/plained me how those plastic structures
are going to change his life. 0hat they actually changed were the 1gures in his
bank account. 2is condition never improved because his *at carried some other
problems which were visible near his parking space. I told him to protect his *at
from pigeons and honey bees. This really helped him and he was able to sell his
*at.
Vastu treatises like Mayamattam and samrangan sutradhar never talk about
remedies. All these are clearly stated in these shastras. $ut time and again you
will see people telling you about remedies in vastu. A mere look at the remedies
will become a source of amusement.

(. Vedhas get remo&ed by planting mirrors.

.. /eep black dogs as pet.
These irrational ideas are mentioned in lal kitab and other books of vastu
written by some newer crop of vastushastris.
They have nothing to do with reality. .eality is harsh and such irrational ideas
thrive on the basic human psychology of instant relief from pain. )eople do not
understand that there are no shortcuts for problems. They are a prey for the
growing crops of thugs.
