For our office located in Vancouver, Canada we are currently looking to hire:


Group Manager Geology


The Group Manager of Geology will be responsible for providing operational assistance to the mining
segment and co-ordination of the building of the geological database and the completion of technical
consulting work.

Main tasks and responsibilities
Management of the geological data and interpretation that supports the Geological Models and
extraction performance.
Leadership of the technical geology capability.
Performance management and reporting of the Geology Audit.
The Group Manager of Geology will assist in the managing of the Nyrstar Resources by
establishing guidelines, policy and procedures for the following:
a. Grade Control: Planned vs. Unplanned, Tracking/monitoring, Blending, Control programs.
b. Reconciliation: Geology Model to Block Model, Block Model to Actual, Mine to Mill, Mill to Sales.
c. Geological Model: Basis for all subsequent understanding of the mineralization.
The Group Manager of Geology will work closely with the Group Manager of Mining Engineering
and the Mining Segment Business Analysts in the development of:
a. Block Models: Block Model Methodology.
b. Cut off policy and guidelines: One for R&R purposes and one for Financial objectives.
c. 48 Month LOM Plan: Planning, Sequence, Tonnes, Grade, Structures, Access development,
Infrastructure, PP&E.

Qualifications and Experience
Qualified Mining Professional with a Degree in Geology.
Have at least 10-15 years Mining experience.
Significant operational experience on base metal plants.
A mix of both operations and consultancy exposure ideal.
Fluent in English and a second language highly desirable (French or Spanish).
Excellent technical writing report writing skills and a sound understanding of international reporting
standards.
Experience supervising and mentoring technical employees.
Experience leading projects of varying scope and complexity.

Demonstrates advanced-level knowledge in geology and testing procedures.
Strong analytical and technical approach.
Knowledge of the business and the industry Understands organizational strategy, competitive
strengths, industry dynamics, profit levers, customers, and competitors of your company.
Ability to analyze complex business matters while being able to communicate and present findings
in a simple straight forward way.
Willingness to travel frequently to remote mining locations (approximately 50%+ travel).
High level of stress resistance ability to deliver high quality results under time pressure.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Flexible outlook and enjoys the challenge of working in a changing environment.
Strongly detail oriented while being able to abstractly communicate results.
Ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders at all levels in the business.
