A LETTER FROM

Rodney
Hello, friends, family, and fellow followers of Christ!
Thanks for taking the time to take a peek into our
new church-planting venture!
I love the above verse because its Jesus bottom
line. We appreciate bottom lines because they tell us
what we can expect. Whether its the price youre
asking about on a car, or the due date for a project,
a bottom line gives us direction.

Bottom lines direct us what to do, and Jesus bottom
line directs us to do something big!
So Jesus has this group of men and women who
have been following him for the last few years and
they are wondering whats next? Jesus lays down his
bottom line. Go and make disciples.
For his followers, this idea is plain and simple. Hes
saying there is something that needs to be done and
you are the perfect people to do it. Theyre perfect for
the job because theyve been tagging along with
Jesus over the last few years. Theyve watched him
encounter individuals who believed God was against
them and he showed them how God was for them.
Theyve watched him move toward the poor and out-
cast rather than move away. Theyve watched him
love people no one loved. Theyve watched him literal-
ly and guratively bring people to life.
So he says to them, Go and do to others what Ive
done for you. Love one another the way I have loved
you, and as you do, the people you love will learn to
do the same. As they encounter the love Ive given to
you, they will discover the life only I can provide.
So thats what we are setting out to do. sentence to We
believe that the love disciples share brings life to their
community. So we are going to mobilize a community of
disciples whose heart is to step into the lives of the hurt,
broken, or distant and spread the love of Christ in such
a way that our love brings life to our community.
But heres the thing... We cant do this without your help!
Would you continue reading along and as you begin to
understand our plan would you also consider being a
participant in our goal to bring life to our community?
In Christ,
Rodney Michael

Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you
always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:19
Botom lines direct us what to do, and Jesus botom line

So he says to them, Go and do to others what Ive done
for you. Love one another the way I have loved you, and

47%
5 3%
Census and survey numbers state Wichita has about47% of the
population claiming some sort of religious afliation. That means
53% claim no religious afliation at all! Some who claim no
religious afliation may know Jesus, and some who claim religious
afliation may not know Jesus, but regardless, a large number of
people are lost. (There are roughly half a million people in the
greater Wichita area.) If you look at the people who work and live
close to you and with whom you have a relationship, youll nd
many dont have a personal relationship with Christ. This is why we
are focusing on our city as a place to plant churches.
Many different areas and cultures need to be reached in Wichita.
The contexts range from small town to urban to suburban, and
church planting can cover all of these. God needs to move in ways
we dont expect for all people in Wichita to hear and have a
chance to respond to the gospel through people living missionally
and in relationship with them.
Tot al Po p: 500, 000
As we develop our CORE TEAM (50 followers of Christ committed to
leveraging themselves strategically to bring life to people in our com-
munity, our goal is to nd practical ways to be present love others
in our community.
We anticipate doing this through pre-launch community groups, and
strategic community partnerships. Our groups will lead people to engage
their varying communities school, work, gym, team, etc.) through
actions of love. Our groups will also partner with organizations home-
less, schools, sex trafcking, etc.) in Wichita with whom we can partner
to reach the needs of our community.
We plan to create strategic community partnerships by hosting and/or
partnering in community action projects that will help us connect with
our community, and also meet the perceived needs of our community.
We believe that by partnering in projects that serve the community we
will not only meet real needs, but communicate that God Loves our
community, and our church does too.

All in all we will create intentional relationships within our community
that are built on love. We believe that as we create relationships found-
ed in love, we will be able to bring life to those relationships by
connecting them to the one who is the source of love.
HOW WE WILL GATHER PEOPLE
The Plan and the Challenge
OUR MISSION AND VISION
The GOOD NEWS:
Jesus said he came that we might have life, life to the full.
The BAD NEWS:
Our culture wants LIFE, but is convinced they can nd a FULL LIFE
in many different fashions, which ultimately leave them empty and
looking for more.
OUR PLAN:
Be a community of disciples who spread the love of Christ in such
a way that it brings life to our community.
Mission:
Bring life to our community

Vision: Create environments that allow people to experience
Christs love through tangible actions.
So, why plant in Wichita?
Ill give you 500,000 reasons!
God has givenus a burden that every person in
Wichita hears the gospel. Many churches in Wichita are
doing great things, and we desire to partner with them in
sharing the gospel. However, even if no one else was
doing it, Jesus has given us this call.
Some wonder what the real need
for the gospel is in Wichita.
Isnt Wichita in the Bible Belt?
Arent there enough churches in Wichita already?
While Wichita is part of the
Bible Belt and there are
many churches, the number
of Wichitans who dont
know Jesus seems to be
insurmountable without in-
tervention from the God of
the universe. New churches
reach people far from God,
and they most ofen reach
people closest in proximity
and demographic. So there
is a denite need for new
churches. Our desire is to
plant churches that are
living on mission together
and planting the gospel in
neighborhoods and demo-
graphics central to the
church plants mission.
Commitments totaling $400,000 over three years
Received commitments of $75,000 by October 1, 2014.

1. PRAY
For God to be revealed and released through this church
plant. We believe God has a plan to use His Church to dis-
play His love to a world hurting and desperate for hope.
For the Vision and Mission of our church plant. That it
would take the appropriate shape in our community to
make a maximum impact.
For our CORE TEAM. That God would work in the hearts
of each member and prepare them to leverage themselves
for His work.
For wisdom, patience, and strength to serve well.
For protection from the atacks of Satan. He doesnt want
this to happen because he wants to continue to deceive a
world whose only hope is Jesus.
For balance. That as we seek to plant this church, God
would help us recognize and meet the needs of our family
accordingly.
For the nances of our plant. We trust that God will pro-
vide exactly what we need, when we need it.
2. GIVE
Consider giving an initial gif to help us meet our pre-launch goal of $75k.
Consider giving a monthly gif for a three-year commitment to help
us reach our full goal of $400k.
