Subject: Re: ENRAF Automatic Tank Gauging
Bonjour Pak Yann,
Actually this system is not a real back-up for custody since the back-up for custody is the manual tank
gauging (tape)
Therefore this system (Automatic Tank Gauging) isn't certified by Migas + BP-Migas + DitMet
Note: verbal discussion with Migas repr., this system is being studied by them as a back-up for liquid
custody transfer
Hence, the automatic tank gauging is being used as the comparison between the manual tank
gauging and the automatic one
( before and after loading, SNP prod. operator collect the tank level data )
In my point of view, the main reason to upgrade this system is the obsolescence of spare parts of
Enraf Control System Parts
Note: The Enraf Field Instrument Parts are still available
For your question:
To replace the old temp. sensor with the new sensor will require the tank to be emptied
Note: We can wait until each tank is empty after the loading or when the tank is being cleaned (e.g.
T-2070)
Although this system isn't an urgency for site, but it become an urgency when the material isn't
available anymore
Je suis dsol pour en retard de rponse, Amicalement,

Halim,
In addition to my question here below in blue, I understood this system as being a "back-up" system
of the metering. Am-I wrong?
If so, the main reason that would decide us to perform the job should be a better reliability of the
metering system as the local charts are not so reliable.
What is the emergency of this job in BSP? WHat are the site request? Do they have the willling to get
this updated system?
Please organise a short meeting with Satrio and myself, tomorrow afternoon if possible so that we
decide on what to do.
Thanks,
Yann BERREHAR

Subject: ENRAF Automatic Tank Gauging
Please find here the result of Automatic Tank Gauging (ATG) ENRAF Preliminary Survey that conducted on
October 21, 2003 by
PT. Duta Instrument Alfa Sakti as the vendor of ENRAF.
The purpose of preliminary survey are to describe our Tank Gauging System and to maximize/improve the
use of our system.
The survey covered:
1. Identify existing system installation, including spare parts.
2. Record any anomaly of system & problem.
3. Propose improvement of system, including recommended spare part and training if required.
The result of the survey:
1. ATG ENRAF 854 are used for displaying level and temperature only.
2. ATG ENRAF 854 are equipped with density Proms, enabling to report the density of the liquid at max
10 different location but not activated.
3. All temperature sensor is using the old RTD type, while there are new MTT (Multi Temperature
Sensor Thermometer) available at workshop.
4. Data collecting unit CIU (Communication Interface Unit) and ENRAF Entis + system (DOS Version) to
display level and temperature are using old version that already obsolete.
Vendor Recommendation:
1. Replace old temperature sensor with new MTT that already in workshop. How, can it be done by
BSP/MNT/IS ? Does it require the tank to be empty?
2. Activate density sensor, since the devices are already capable to handle density measurement.
3. Replace old CIU to CIU Prime and CIU Plus to improve data collection and inventory
calculation.
4. Replace Entis + System that runs on DOS operating system to Entis Pro System which is
already packaged with Numerical and Graphical Display. Slight modification in the Honeywell DCS
system might be required.
5. Training for operator and field engineer shall be conducted in order to utilize the Enraf.
6. Enraf Tank slide Indicator (TSI) can be installed at bottom side of tank for providing the tank data
without climbing the tank. (optional)
Reason for upgrading:
1. Hardware (CIU) & Software (Entis +) already obsolete.
2. User Friendly.
3. High reliability
Estimation cost for the above job are attached ($ 24,805.00 w/o trainning)
Spare parts will be created on UnisUp/SAP
