SRI VASAVI COLLEGE (SELF-FINANCE WING) (Affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore) Dr. S. JAYASANKAR, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., PRINCIPAL Message I am immensely happy to note that the Department of the Management of (Self - Finance Wing) Sri Vasavi College, Erode, is organising an international conference on Globalisation and its impact on Indian economy At the outset I wish to place on record my sincere appreciation to the organising secretary and the steering committee for the best efforts taken to make this programme a grand success. The theme of the conference needs special mention here. The concept of globalization that dawned by the turn of last millennium, has heralded vast changes in unexplored areas of human experiences. The globe, considered to be very vast by any standard has shrunk in size figuratively. The man in the street and his economy is very much in close nexus with changing trends in the global economy. Any change in the global scenario percolates to every nook and corner of the globe in no time. This has positive effect to a large extent and negative as well. An academic conference of this kind gives vast exposure to teachers, research scholars and student to have a clear idea about the changing fortunes in human life due to the globalization and its related issue. We have to focus our attention to both positive and negative impact, which will help us to plan our future course of action. A vast array of topics have been highlighted for discussion. I wish the delegates and the participants a very purposeful exchange of ideas for knowledge sharing, which can shape the academic life of students in turn.
MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANISING COMMITTEE The growing interdependence of the world economy and international character of many business practices have contributed to the development of universal emphasis on Globalization and its impact on Indian Economy we are living in a global information society, with a global economy that is increasingly dependent on the creation, management, and distribution of information resources. Globalization is changing the world rapidly and radically towards development. Many companies are in the process of globalisation (ie) becoming global enterprises. Businesses are expanding into global markets for their products and services, using global production facilities to manufacture and assemble products, raising money in global capital markets, and battling with global competitors for customers from all over the globe.
The world economy is getting more changes that affect our Indian business, The conference theme will give novel ideas about how globalization will develop the Indian economy and make our country a prosperous one. We are sure that this International conference will share ideas on all aspects and will bring out various measures to protect our Indian economy and also face the challenges of an unpredictable global economy. We do whole heartedly thank each and every one of the participants for their laudable contribution and participation. We thank the Almighty for the blessings and the Management, Secretary and Director for their guidance support in making this conference grand success. We express our sincere thanks to the publishers, and those who has directly and indirectly helped us in publishing this book and in hosting the international conference in a grand manner.
