R12 Banks and Branches Model

As discussed in earlier post about the new tables in R12 Banks and Branches, today lets go through the
internal and external uses of bank accounts. When a bank account is created in Cash anage!ent they
are created as "nternal bank Accounts, and the bank accounts created using the #upplier for! or
custo!er for! through are created as $xternal Bank Accounts. %o be !ore specific when the user
defines a new bank account using the supplier for! the infor!ation is stored in the
"B&'$(%'BA)*'ACC+,)%# and the internal bank accounts are stored in the
C$'BA)*'ACC+,)%.
%he ability to share bank and bank account infor!ation between internal bank account definitions fro!
different !odules like -ayables, Recei.ables, %reasury, -ayroll and /lobal 0inancials is pro.ided by
Cash anage!ent.
As we know %CA party !odel is used to !odel banks and bank branches as parties with the associated
Relationships, Address, Contacts and 1ocations. Cash anage!ent uses the following %CA tables for

anage!ent as !entioned in !y earlier post. %he new data !odel allows the bank and bank branch
entities to be defined separately allowing users !ore flexibility and to establish a hierarchical
relationship between the!.
