Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakatuhu!

Dawah is a word in Arabic that means "to invite" or "to offer to share."Dawah is one of
the recognized fields of Jihad as jihad can be exercised through purifying ones self,
educating others using ones tongue or pen, and with the fulfillment of certain
prerequisites through striving against evil. Dawah is one form of enjoining what is
good and forbidding what is evil, and it is usually exercised using ones tongue or pen to
educate others and inform them about the Creator and His Greatness. In
addition, dawah can be seen as a means of saving not only the Muslim Ummah, but also
all forms of life through preventing the mischief of the ignorant and the unjust.
Giving da'wah is one of the best ways that a person can get close to Allah SWT. Giving
dawah is a very important part of being a Muslim and it can be somewhat difficult at
times. Yet it is not impossible. The fact is that sharing Islam is a very simple concept. The
difficulty comes in when you are trying to communicate the idea to others, especially
when they have already been predisposed to believe in something else and to believe that
Islam is something bad.

{And who is better in speech than he who invites to Allah and does
righteousness and says, 'Indeed, I am of the Muslims.'} (Fussilat 41: 33)
It is a well known fact that making da`wah or inviting people to Allah is the mission of all
Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them) as He says:
{Those are the ones whom Allah has guided, so from their guidance take an
example. Say, 'I ask of you for it [i.e., this message] no payment. It is not
but a reminder for the worlds.'} (Al-An`am 6: 90)

Indeed, Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them) did not anticipate any reward or
payment from their invitees as they knew for sure that they would be abundantly
rewarded from the Almighty One Who sent them with that guidance to mankind.

This also applies to every Muslim who should deem da`wah as an excellent means for
incurring great rewards from Allah as each and everyone who invitees others to goodness
will be abundantly rewarded without diminishing the reward of the invitees in any way.
This is clear in the hadith that is narrated by Abu Hurairah in which the Prophet (peace
and blessings be upon him) is reported as having said,

He who called (people) to righteousness, there would be reward (assured)
for him like the rewards of those who adhered to it, without their rewards
being diminished in any respect. And he who called (people) to error, he
shall have to carry (the burden) of its sin, like those who committed it,
without their sins being diminished in any respect. (Muslim)

One of the main objectives of Muslim Student Association (MSA) is to give dawah.
Giving dawah for the sake of ALLAH. MSA is not an ordinary organization, it teaches
you morality and how to motivates in dealing with other people in the guidance of
Quran and Sunnah. We, as a member of the MSA we kept in our mind the purpose of
these organization, that Allahu azza wa jaal stated in the holy Quran and hold firmly
to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided 3:103
It includes the creed(correct aqeeda) that we must have one, not divided.

Ambush Dawah involves calling people to Islam most especially our beloved sisters in a
spontaneous manner. They are ambushed for good. They are ambushed for the sake of
ALLAH (S.W.T). We invited them in a nicer way of approach.

Last December 12, 2013 MSA-UZ sisters had an activity regarding in ambush
dawah. The agenda of this activity are to promote MSA for the newest members most
especially the freshmen students and getting to know each one of us to strengthening
sisterhood also enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil.
Our dawah involves two parts. The Part 1 it was started on 1:00-3:00 pm and the Part 2
of dawah begun on 3:00-5:00 pm. In the first part Kah Radia H. Nuruddin led the
dawah followed by Kah Weldana Abdurahim. They prepared some Islamic videos that
can touch our hearts. While in the second part of dawah Kah Nurjipa H. Nuruddin was
led the dawah. Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah for the sake of ALLAH the
entirely merciful, the said activity was Ma shaa ALLAH successful. HE guided us to the
straight path. In Shaa ALLAHU taala MSA will be one of their reasons of becoming
closer to their Creator ALLAHu taala. I witnessed all of my sisters leave the MSA center
with a smile in their faces and hoping for the beautiful tomorrow and making their faith
in firm. In Shaa Allahu taala.

Keep in mind at all times that you are on a special mission to deliver a message of
inviting people to worship Allah according to the way that He wants to be worshipped.
You are to call them to know the truth and how to follow it. You do this with both your
kind words and correct actions.
Your words are used in lectures, sermons, books, tapes and dialogues. These words help
people to understand the truth of Islam.
Your actions are observed by others through your behavior and manners. You become
the role model for what Islam is all about.

As Muslims, it is our responsibility to remind and invite people toward the beautiful
Deen of Islam. Somewhere, somehow over the years, we have become distracted by the
Dunya (world), thus resulting in many of us becoming negligent in fulfilling our
obligation of giving Dawah.
Occasionally, we feel that we are unable to give Dawah due to our limited resources.
However, this is not justifiable, as Passive Dawah (meaning Dawah given
unconsciously on a day to day basis) may be provided in numerous ways, regardless of a
persons availability of resources or formal education. Dawah can be executed by anyone
and at anytime.
May Allah guide us to the straight path. In Shaa Allahu taala.
Assalaamu alaykum wa rakmatullaahi wa barakatuhu. JazaakunnAllaahu khayran.
