Advanced Polymer Architecture
improves part performance
Parts made with Advanced Polymer Architecture demon-
strate more robust and durable sealing performance. New
products have improved seal force retention and give low
compression set either with or without post cure. The possi-
bility for over-molding plastic components opens the door to
new part configurations due to the improved seal integrity.
In addition to improved sealing performance, Viton
fluo-
roelastomers made with Advanced Polymer Architecture
demonstrate improved fluid resistance.
Advanced Polymer Architecture gives low water swell with
conventional metal oxides and better resistance to strong
organic acids. New products provide better low tempera-
ture sealing performance with functionality at nearly 50C
for non-post cured seals.

The new molecular structure of Advanced Polymer
Architecture provides processing advantages to help
improve productivity due to:
Higher molecular weight and optimized molecular
weight distribution for better mold flow
Branching level designed to improve flow and
properties in both press and post-cured states
New products allow for easier flow in injection
molding and high extrusion rates with low die swell.
Advanced Polymer Architecture incorporates new cure
site monomers that offer:
More efficient curing and better press
cured properties
Processors will also see advantages with mold release to help
improve productivity. Complex shapes will benefit from the
high, hot elongation and tear strength to help reduce defects.
Improved hot tensile strength and modulus also help improve
mold release and reduce the number of split parts.
