Popu lation Adjustment.
Dear Ms. Lyles:
In keeping with the collective bargaining agreement between the State of California and the California
Association of Psychiatric Technicians (CAPT), this is official notification thatthe California Correctional
Health Care Services (CCHCS) is initiating layoffs that may impact employees in Bargaining Unit 18. The
staffing reductions are necessary in order to realign medical staffing at institutions, realign headquarters
staff, and the conversion from GeneralAcute Care Hospitals to Correctional Treatment Centers. The
area of layoff is geographic by county and affects CAPT statf in the counties listed in the attached layoff
pl an.
These layoffs will be effective at the close of business December 1
,2014.
A copy of the layoff plan is
attached for your review.
lf you wish to meet and confer over the impact of this layoff, please contact me with your suggested
meeting dates. The department will proceed with the staffing reductions in a manner consistent with the
law, California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) rules, and the collective bargaining agreement.
