Last Quarter Meeting 2013

ORDER OF BUSINESS
1. INVOCATION The meeting was constituted with a prayer offered by Mr. Threjann Ace Noli, PSWD Staff.
2. NATIONAL ANTHEM The singing of the National Anthem was conducted through an Audio Visual Presentation.
3. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by the Honorable YevgenyVincente B. Emano, Provincial Governor.
4. ROLL CALL AND DETERMINATION OF QUORUM The 15 members of PPOC were present, which constitutes a quorum.
5. BUSINESS OF THE DAY
MATTER NO. 1:
5.1 Functionality of BahayPag-asa Center (BPC)at Patpat, Claveria, Misamis Oriental
The BahayPag-asa Center Head, Mr. JhunleymarAbella gave updates regarding BahayPag-asa Center. He made it clear that BahayPag-asa Center will only cater male Children In Conflict with Law (CICL) whose case is/are pending in court. The BPC aims to rehabilitate the children admitted at said facility and prepare them for reintegration to their respective communities afterwards. There are two houseparents who are on duty at the said center and a house shepherd.
He stressed that BahayPag-asa Center is ready to receive wards anytime and that BPC Staff are equipped in handling the will-be wards.
The Provincial Planning Officer, Mr. Stanley Uriarte asked Mr. Abella to give him a copy of the BahayPag-asa Manual of Operations which the latter promised to give.
MATTER NO. 2:
5.2 Monitoring of CICL in the Province
As to date, the BahayPag-asa Center Head has monitored 76 CICLs throughout the Province, a number of it are from Tagoloan. The 76 CICLs that were listed and monitored are still subject for thorough assessment and interview before admission to the BahayPag Center.
The PNP committed to help monitor the CICL in the province and were happy that the province has already the facility to cater those children in conflict with the law since the law provides clearly that no children shall be in placed behind bars.
OTHER MATTERS:
Board Member Nancy Madjos suggested if the council members could pay a visit to the BahayPag-asa Center to see the facility themselves before year 2013 ends which the group affirmed.
