"Sapne mat Dekho ....

Sapne Kabhi Pure nahi hote.....
Lekin maine sapna Dekha ....
Sapna ek naye kal ka ...
Ek sapna jo jarur pura hoga.....!!! "

Dreams ...Dreams .. Dreams...

How many times in a day we think about our dreams??

Some of us think more about them.....
Some think rarely...
Some of us see them with our eyes closed ...
Some of us eyes open...
The Question is what exactly are they? And do we give our 100% to achieve them...

Dreams are often dumped ... often suppressed.... often given up ... often attained!!!...
If a dream gets suppressed or it can't be attained... its leaves us in total uneasiness ..and the day
we won over the dream the life is full of butterflies ...

We do lots n lots of planning for our dreams .... Work so hard to achieve them...
Dreams are life ... Dreams are everything ... The Real Dreams are the one we see with open eyes.

The things we always love to do become our dreams ... and we always would love to chase them
anytime of our lives whether in deep sleep or in the hour of alertness... and sometimes we don't
get we ever wished from GOD .. Our dreams get drained down the stream with leaving nothing
in our hands ... we shatter... We cry...

But the really thing that inspires us at that time is WE ourselves. We Cry because of our regrets
..because of our dead dreams ... but to be happy in present moment is ART ..not known to
everyone ... We Ourselves Control Our lives by how we react to them and how we look
situations in life ... You must not have fears to start from ZERO .. for us life is a risk we take
everyday ... every minute ... every second...!

The only way to win is to give your everything to everything ... you will get everything in return
... life will be beautiful .. full of life ... be enthusiastic like a small child .. smile like him .. laugh
like him.

Make Dreams come true .. fight for them .. the feeling of success will give life to you .... and it
will inspire others too ....what ever you do on earth stir the soul of the world.. you have to look
carefully for the OMENS in your path and lead ahead. But Never Ever let a Dream Die ...
Inspire Dreams ..Inspire others ... And let the Dreams Glow .. Glow our present and Glow our
future!!

" WORLD IS YOUR BASE ...

RISE UP ABOVE IN YOUR SPACE...
EXCELLENCE REQUIRES YOU ...
AND YOU REQUIRE YOURSELF!!"

Keeeep smiling stay blessed and May your Dreams be blessed too!!
To each one, with love!

- Mahek

A writer friend asked me - How to ensure that whatever we do is ethically/ morally correct? How
to take that decision…It got me thinking- luckily, like all things in life, I realized this one also
has the simplest of the answers!!

I am a writer. For me, to make sure that my usage of media promotes non-violence, peace and
harmony irrespective of what I am writing about is to make sure that my heart remains like a rose
wet with dew. Because I believe the ways that promote peace in our immediate family are
exactly the ways that promote peace in our extended family (the whole world): to accept people
with their unique set of beliefs, values, traditions and cultures. It’s not about sympathy. It’s not
even about adjustment. It’s about and only about love.

To make those communities on Indo-Pak unity on orkut.com, to write those letters to editors on
communal harmony, to always focus on the solutions to any problem being debated, to indulge
in constructive criticism, to express hatred against the crime and not the criminal, to propagate
Mahatma Gandhi’s experiment on practical strength of non-violence- all these ideas and many
more spring when we put our heart into anything we do.

My grandfather was full of stories about Lahore, the city that is now in Pakistan. When I was a
kid, he would describe me the days of partition. His stories were full of incidents about how he
would take rice for his Muslim friend living in a camp; about how he would take his aunt in the
dark of the night to meet her friend, one last time. And then I grew up to read about the incident
in the textbooks and the violence that marred it. It took me some time to realize that those
anecdotes of love and those mechanical descriptions in the textbooks were of the same event. I
aspire to look at events the way my grandfather did. I aspire to not just look at the events the way
he did but also tell people about it.

I don’t believe there can be times when we cannot find anything positive and good in a situation.
I believe if we look hard enough, we can always find something overwhelming, something
inspiring, something humane. I have taken away my option of not looking hard enough. Let us
all take away our option of not looking hard enough.

This world runs on the goodness of the good. There is enough good around lying unreported.
This is not to say that there is no negativity, no sadness, nothing wrong around. This is not to say
that one shouldn’t be strong enough to stand against powers that be. In fact, I hope to remain
sensitive enough to feel the pain of those aching hearts. Sensitive enough to not to ignore, to
listen to what the silence of those around me says. And write about it.

Like anyone else, I don’t need to be tutored on what to say and when to my best friend. Like
anyone else, I know it instinctively. In the same way, with love, we would use media and
communication technologies in the right way without being taught to do so. We would
automatically choose the right words and arrange them like a piece of poetry with therapeutic
value.

If you think this is idle talk, think again. It’s not just me. I see so many youngsters full of
enthusiasm and hope. There is a saying in our country- drop by drop, the pitcher gets filled. As
each new person contributes his/her share of positivity, the world gets better each passing day.

P.S. : I think it's high time we non-violent people started flaunting ourselves and deliberately
started being vocal and loud about our opinions...Don't you think so?
Conscious

- Bhuna

I was watching animal planet on television one afternoon. They were telecasting how a cheetah
hunts its food. There was a small pond of water where all animals came to have water. Do you
know a cheetah always waits for a chance to kill the animal and make it its supper? It waits and
watches for the one who is weak amongst all and it waits for the animals that are fighting in the
group. Do you know why? Because when the two animals are fighting, they are not aware of
their surroundings whereas others in the group will always be conscious and alert of the attack...
and so cheetah will surely select that animal which is fighting for it is easier for it to kill.

Why the hell am I talking about this you may feel but you know, in the same way problems
persist only with the ones who are vulnerable and cannot defend themselves… the weak always
finds himself in troubles... and those who are in altercation with their loved ones or anyone else,
they can easily fall into trouble as they offer a chance to others to interfere in their life. Hence, be
always conscious about your surroundings! Never neglect life and be strong enough to fight with
any situation in life...
Catch a Glimpse of Your Own Greatness

- Sarika

Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always
someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising that tempt you
to believe your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end
requires some of the same courage that a soldier needs. Peace has its victories, but it takes
brave men and women to win them.

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

So what do you do with your newly developed courage? Where will it lead you? The answer is
that it will permit you to lead a far more fulfilling and meaningful life. You will truly begin
living as a daring human being instead of a timid mouse. You will uncover and develop your
greatest talents. You will begin living far more consciously and deliberately than you ever have
before. Instead of reacting to events, you will proactively manufacture your own events.
What is the difference between you and one of those legendary historical figures who did have
such an impact? You both had many of the same fears. You both were born with talents in some
areas and weaknesses in others. The only thing stopping you is fear, and the only thing that will
get you past it is courage. What you do with your life isn't up to your parents, your boss, or your
spouse. It's up to you and you alone.
Live with intensity
- Sayan

‘Intensity’ is one of my favorite words. It shouts in the ears – ‘full volume.’ What happens if the
imaginary kiosk of your life will be increased at full volume? What changes will you be able to
see in your daily deliverable that makes you feel like a superstar? What progress will you make
if you just play out your best at every level in your life? You say – Magnificent life will be about
to show up. Yes. The art of magnificence embarks its journey when you start off to live an
intense life. With full of passion, with the best of your energy and with abundant enthusiasm.

I want my life full volume. Fully loaded with all the best ingredients. I crave everything to get
intensified at their maximum level. To make me the most extra-ordinary person in my own eyes.
Which brings me on to the point I want you to consider today: your intensity of life is directly
proportional to the honesty you show up with your conscious. You can grow up more than you
know if you simply integrate all your actions with your conscious. That’s why I call it – ‘Master
Advisor.’ Wherever you go, whatever you do, whomsoever you meet, Master Advisor’s voice is
always louder in your mind than your own voice of actions. Pay heed to your master, and see
your life to expand. To extend beyond the fence you are most comfortable with. To transcend
your limitations. To be the best at every part. To shine. To intensify. Powerful idea. I invite you
to apply in your life. Now.
The Two Choices We Face
- Sujeet

Each of us has two distinct choices to make about what we will do with our lives. The first
choice we can make is to be less than we have the capacity to be. To earn less. To have less. To
read less and think less. To try less and discipline ourselves less.

These are the choices that lead to an empty life. These are the choices that, once made, lead to a
life of constant apprehension instead of a life of wondrous anticipation.

And the second choice? To do it all! To become all that we can possibly be. To read every book
that we possibly can. To earn as much as we possibly can. To give and share as much as we
possibly can. To strive and produce and accomplish as much as we possibly can. All of us have
the choice.

To do or not to do. To be or not to be. To be all or to be less or to be nothing at all.

Like the tree, it would be a worthy challenge for us all to stretch upward and outward to the full
measure of our capabilities. Why not do all that we can, every moment that we can, the best that
we can, for as long as we can?

Our ultimate life objective should be to create as much as our talent and ability and desire will
permit. To settle for doing less than we could do is to fail in this worthiest of undertakings.

Results are the best measurement of human progress. Not conversation. Not explanation. Not
justification. Results! And if our results are less than our potential suggests that they should be,
then we must strive to become more today than we were the day before.

The greatest rewards are always reserved for those who bring great value to themselves and the
world around them as a result of who and what they have become.

StorieS to ponder over
Why am I feeling inferior?
- Tejendra

A samurai, a very proud warrior, came to see a Zen Master one day. The samurai was very
famous, but looking at the beauty of the Master and the Grace of the moment, he suddenly felt
inferior.

He said to the Master, "Why am I feeling inferior?

Just a moment ago everything was okay. As I entered your court suddenly I felt inferior. I have
never felt like that before. I have faced death many times, and I have never felt any fear -- why
am I now feeling frightened?"

The Master said, "Wait. When everyone else has gone, I will answer. “People continued the
whole day to come and see
the Master, and the samurai was getting more and more tired waiting. By evening the room was
empty, and the samurai said, "Now, can you answer me?"
The Master said, "Come outside."

It was a full moon night; the moon was just rising on the horizon. And he said, "Look at these
trees. This tree is high in the sky and this small one beside it.
They both have existed beside my window for years, and there has never been any problem. The
smaller tree has never said to the big tree, 'Why do I feel inferior before you?' This tree is small,
and that tree is big -- why have I never heard a whisper of it?"

The samurai said, "Because they can't compare."

The Master replied, "Then you need not ask me. You know the answer."
The Trail and the Taste
- Sarika

Isn’t it a typical human reaction to question God when we face rough weather or when it gets
incredibly tough to confront certain situations in life? Do we not fret and fume and wonder when
something we think we badly need is denied to us? Don’t we at times even accuse God for all the
denials that we think we deserve?

Well, if only we constantly reminded ourselves that He decides each and every situation for us
based on what we really need and deserve. For, God can only do good to us. He is our creator
and only wishes to see smiles on our faces, even though it may not always seem that way. And
this is because, unfortunately, our vision is often narrow. All we need to do is believe that
everything that happens is for our best, and that there could be no other way to progress in life.

Here is a beautiful story. Jimmy found a cocoon of a butterfly in his back garden one evening.
He decided to take it indoors to watch it break through its shell and arrive in this world safe and
sound.

After a few days, he saw that the cocoon cracked at a point through which he could see the
butterfly struggle to get out. Feeling pity for the butterfly, and assuming that the fighting creature
needed his help, he enlarged the hole through which he could see the butterfly trying to break
free. But he noticed that the butterfly seemed to have an unusually oversized body with wings
that looked weak, feeble, and shriveled.
Isn’t it the normal way for a caterpillar to transform into a butterfly once out of the cocoon? Did
Jimmy even doubt that things would go wrong? Well, while Jimmy waited and watched to see
the caterpillar grow into a beautiful butterfly, the caterpillar really never grew anymore. He was
hoping that the butterfly would spread its wings. Unfortunately, such a thing never happened.
The body of the butterfly remained strangely large, and it stayed there, crippled, with shriveled
wings.

Jimmy’s heart broke when he realized that in his concern and impatience to get the caterpillar to
be a butterfly, he had actually deprived it of a normal life.

The apparent struggle of the butterfly that Jimmy had witnessed was the time required by it to
gain enough strength in its wings to fly out of its shell. The struggle to break the cocoon was
very much necessary for its wings to become strong.

That one moment of ill-timed intervention had crippled the life of the caterpillar forever. It
could never become what it came into the world to be – a butterfly.

Therefore, all that we go through in our lives is for our good, whether we realize it at that
point or not. We must trust Him and accept everything, pleasant and sad, that happens in
our lives as His gifts. There is no other better way to lead a happy, contended and fulfilling
life.

“Tests are the taste of God. The most precious ornaments arise from the fiercest of fires…
A spiritual aspirant is one who undergoes all suffering smilingly.”
Concentration is the alchemy of success
- Anbu

One day Jalaluddin Rumi took all his students, disciples and devotees to a field. That was his
way to teach them things of the beyond, through the examples of the world. He was not a
theoretician, he was a very practical man. The disciples were thinking, "What could be the
message, going to that faraway field... and why can't he say it here?"

But when they reached the field, they understood that they were wrong and he was right. The
farmer seemed to be almost an insane man. He was digging a well in the field – and he had
already dug eight incomplete wells. He would go a few feet and then he would find that there
was no water. Then he would start digging another well... and the same story was continued. He
had destroyed the whole field and he had not yet found water.

The master, Jalaluddin Rumi, told his disciples, "Can you understand something? If this man had
been total and had put his whole energy into only one well, he would have reached to the deepest
sources of water long ago.

But the way he is going he will destroy the whole field and he will never be able to make a single
well. With so much effort he is simply destroying his own land, and getting more and more
frustrated, disappointed: what kind of a desert has he purchased? It is not a desert, but one has to
go deep to find the sources of water."

He turned to his disciples and asked them, "Are you going to follow this insane farmer?
Sometimes on one path, sometimes on another path, sometimes listening to one, sometimes
listening to another... you will collect much knowledge, but all that knowledge is simply junk,
because it is not going to give you the enlightenment you were looking for. It is not going to lead
you to the waters of eternal life"

Conclusion: - Single pointed concentration is the alchemy of success.

Does God Exist?
- Sayan

Buddha was gathered together with his disciples one morning, when a man came up to him.

'Does God exist?' he asked.

'He does,' replied Buddha.

After lunch, another man came up to him.

'Does God exist?' he asked.

'No, he doesn't,' said Buddha.

Later that afternoon, a third man asked the same question: 'Does God exist?'

'That's for you to decide,' replied Buddha.

As soon as the man had gone, one of his disciples remarked angrily: 'But that's absurd, Master!
How can you possibly give such different answers to the same question?'

'Because they are all different people, and each one of them will reach God by his own path. The
first man will believe what I say. The second will do everything he can to prove me wrong. The
third will only believe in what he is allowed to choose for himself.'
AWARENESS
- Khusboo

There was a thief. He went to meet a saint.

Thief: "I have a compulsion to steal...I just cannot help myself, but steal. Please tell me
how do I get rid of this habit? "

The saint replied-" I'm not going to tell you not to steal. But whenever you steal, just
do it with your awareness. "

Three months later, the thief came back to the saint and said-
" With awareness, I just could not steal”!!

So, if we are aware of all that we tell ourselves, then this level of awareness can prevent a
crime!!

You can arouse a passion and that passion can become an impulse to destroy...So, in order
to be creative, you do not need to arouse a passion, but you need to be focused, and more
importantly, you need to be AWARE.

Stay beautiful...
True Touching Story to Humble Ourselves
- Kiran

I was parked in front of the mall wiping off my car. I had just come from the car wash and was
waiting for my husband to get out of work.

Coming my way from across the parking lot was what society would
consider a bum. From the looks of him, he had no car, no home, no clean clothes, and no money.
There are times when you feel generous but there are other times that you just don't want to be
bothered. This was one of those "don't want to be bothered times."

"I hope he doesn't ask me for any money," I thought. He didn't. He came and sat on the curb in
front of the bus stop but he didn't look like he could have enough money to even ride the bus.

After a few minutes he spoke. "That's a very pretty car," he said.

I said, "thanks," and continued wiping off my car. He sat there quietly as I worked. The expected
plea for money never came.

As the silence between us widened something inside said, "ask him if he needs any help." I was
sure that he would say "yes" but I held true to the inner voice.

"Do you need any help?" I asked.

He answered in three simple but profound words that I shall never forget.

I expected nothing but an outstretched grimy hand. He spoke the three words that shook me.

"Don't we all?" he said.

I was feeling high and mighty, successful and important, above a bum in the street, until those
three words hit me like a twelve gauge shotgun.

Don't we all?

I was feeling high and mighty, successful and important, above a bum in the street, until those
three words hit me like a twelve gauge shotgun.

Don't we all?
I needed help. Maybe not for bus fare or a place to sleep, but I
needed help. I reached in my wallet and gave him not only enough for bus fare, but enough to get
a warm meal and shelter for the day.

We often look for wisdom in great men and women. We expect it from
those of higher learning and accomplishments.

No matter how much you have, no matter how much you have accomplished, you need help too.

No matter how little you have, no matter how loaded you are with problems, even without
money or a place to sleep, you can give help.

Even if it's just a compliment, you can give that.

Maybe the man was just a homeless stranger wandering the streets. Maybe he was more than
that......
Discouragement
- Kinu

Once upon a time it was announced that the devil was going out of business and would sell all
his equipment to those who were willing to pay the price.

On the big day of the sale, all his tools were attractively displayed. There were Envy, Jealousy,
Hatred, Malice, Deceit, Sensuality, Pride, Idolatry, and other implements of evil display. Each of
the tools was marked with its own price tag.

Over in the corner by itself was a harmless looking, wedge-shaped tool very much worn, but still
it bore a higher price than any of the others. Someone asked the devil what it was, and he
answered, "That is Discouragement."
The next question came quickly, "And why is it priced so high even though it is plain to see that
it is worn more than these others?"

Because replied the devil, "It is more useful to me than all these others. I can pry open and get
into a man's heart with that when I cannot get near him with any other too Once I get inside, I
can use him in whatever way suits me best. It is worn well because I use it on everybody I can,
and few people even know it belongs to me."

This tool was priced so high that no one could buy it, and to this day it has never been sold.
It still belongs to the devil, and he still uses it on mankind.
What ever happens is for the good only
- Vijya

I would like to give an example for 'What ever happens is for the good only'.

It is the story of a king and his mantri. One day the king got his thumb finger wounded which
cost him so much of blood. Then his mantri told the king that it happened for the good only. The
king got angry at the mantri's words and ordered his soldiers to jail the mantri. Then mantri again
told the king that it happened for my good only. The king thought that mantri went mad.

Next day, the king went for hunting. He was caught by the tribal people and he was tied with
ropes so that he can be given as bali to their goddess. According to the tribal people, if they can
give bali of a perfect and healthy human being then their goddess will feel happier. Then, the
tribal leader inspected the king's body and ordered to release him as the king was not eligible for
bali (sacrifice) for his thumb finger being wounded. The king then realized the words of mantri
'what ever happened is for the good only'.

Next day, the king approached the mantri in the jail and told him the entire story. But the king
was still unable to understand why mantri told that it happened for the good when the king put
the mantri in jail. Then the mantri told that he was the next best perfect and healthy person after
the king and if he accompanied him for hunting then the mantri's life would have been on toss.
So, the mantri is also saved.

So my conclusion is: whatever happens in our life whether good or bad (no matter what is the
intensity of the bad incident), we should take it for granted that it is for the good only. It may
show its results in the future.

Junior high school students in Chicago were studying the Seven Wonders of the World. At the
end of the lesson, the students were asked to list what they considered to be the Seven Wonders
of the World. Though there was some disagreement, the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt's Great Pyramids

2. The Taj Mahal in India
3. The Grand Canyon in Arizona
4. The Panama Canal
5. The Empire State Building
6. St. Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student, a quiet girl, hadn't turned in her
paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The quiet girl replied,
"Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make up my mind because there were so many." The teacher said,
"Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help.
The girl hesitated, and then read:
The girl hesitated, then read:
"I think the Seven Wonders of the World are:
1. to touch...
2. to taste...
3. to see...
4. to hear...
5. to feel...
6. to laugh...
7. and to love.

The room was so quiet; you could have heard a pin drop.
May this story serve as a gentle reminder to all of us that the things we overlook as simple and
ordinary are often the most wonderful - and we don't have to travel anywhere special to
experience them..!!!

Inside yourself
- Anil

A beggar had been sitting by the side of a road for over thirty years.

One day a stranger walked by.

"Spare some change?" mumbled the beggar, mechanically holding out his old baseball cap."

I have nothing to give you" said the stranger.

Then he asked: "What's that you are sitting on?"

"Nothing," replied the beggar.

"Just an old box. I have been sitting on it for as long as I can remember."

"Ever looked inside?" asked the stranger.

"No," said the beggar.

"What's the point? There is nothing in there."

"Have a look inside," insisted the stranger.

The beggar managed to pry open the lid.

With astonishment, disbelief, and elation, he saw that the box was filled with gold.

So friends, we have to do the same; we have to look inside. Not inside any box, as in the
parable, but somewhere even closer; inside ourselves.

"I've often said that cancer was the best thing that ever happened to me. But everybody
wants to know what I mean by that: how could a life threatening disease be a good thing? I
say it because my illness was also my antidote: it cured me of laziness.
Before I was diagnosed I was a slacker. I was getting paid a lot of money for a job which I
didn't do 100% and that was more than just a shame - it was wrong. When I got sick, I told

If there is time for wishing then there is time for hoping-

When through doubt and darkness you are blindly groping.

Though the heart be heavy and hurt you may be feeling-

If there is time for praying there is time for healing.

So if through your window there is a new day breaking-

Thank God for the promise, though mind and soul be aching,

If with harvest over there is grain enough for gleaning-

There is a new tomorrow and life still has meaning.
Speech by Bryan Dyson (CEO of Coca Cola)
- Chandrakant

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the
air.

You name them - Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you're
keeping all of these in the Air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball.

If you drop it, it will bounce back.

But the other four Balls - Family, Health, Friends and Spirit - are made of
glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked,
nicked, damaged or even shattered.

They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.
Chetan Bhagat @ Symbiosis Pune - Awesome
Speech
- Tejendra

Good Morning everyone and thank you for giving me this chance to speak to you. This day is
about you. You, who have come to this college, leaving the comfort of your homes (or in some
cases discomfort), to become something in your life. I am sure you are excited. There are few
days in human life when one is truly elated. The first day in college is one of them. When you
were getting ready today, you felt a tingling in your stomach. What would the auditorium be like,
what would the teachers be like, who are my new classmates - there is so much to be curious
about. I call this excitement, the spark within you that makes you feel truly alive today. Today I
am going to talk about keeping the spark shining. Or to put it another way, how to be happy
most, if not all the time.

Where do these sparks start? I think we are born with them. My 3-year old twin boys have a
million sparks. A little Spiderman toy can make them jump on the bed. They get thrills from
creaky swings in the park. A story from daddy gets them excited. They do a daily countdown for
birthday party – several months in advance – just for the day they will cut their own birthday
cake.

I see students like you, and I still see some sparks. But when I see older people, the spark is
difficult to find. That means as we age, the spark fades. People whose spark has faded too much
are dull, dejected, aimless and bitter. Remember Kareena in the first half of Jab We Met vs the
second half? That is what happens when the spark is lost. So how to save the spark?

Imagine the spark to be a lamp's flame. The first aspect is nurturing - to give your spark the fuel,
continuously. The second is to guard against storms.

To nurture, always have goals. It is human nature to strive, improve and achieve full potential. In
fact, that is success. It is what is possible for you. It isn't any external measure - a certain cost to
company pay package, a particular car or house.

Most of us are from middle class families. To us, having material landmarks is success and
rightly so. When you have grown up where money constraints force everyday choices, financial
freedom is a big achievement. But it isn't the purpose of life. If that was the case, Mr. Ambani
would not show up for work. Shah Rukh Khan would stay at home and not dance anymore.
Steve Jobs won't be working hard to make a better iPhone, as he sold Pixar for billions of dollars
already. Why do they do it? What makes them come to work everyday? They do it because it
makes them happy. They do it because it makes them feel alive. Just getting better from current
level s feels good. If you study hard, you can improve your rank. If you make an effort to interact
with people, you will do better in interviews. If you practice, your cricket will get better. You
may also know that you cannot become Tendulkar, yet. But you can get to the next level.
Striving for that next level is important.

Nature designed with a random set of genes and circumstances in which we were born. To be
happy, we have to accept it and make the most of nature's design. Are you? Goals will help you
do that. I must add, don't just have career or academic goals. Set goals to give you a balanced,
successful life. I use the word balanced before successful. Balanced means ensuring your health,
relationships, mental peace are all in good order.

There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in driving a
car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions.

You must have read some quotes - Life is a tough race, it is a marathon or whatever. No, from
what I have seen so far, life is one of those races in nursery school, where you have to run with a
marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same
with life, where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is
harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being
excited and alive, will start to die.

One last thing about nurturing the spark - don't take life seriously. One of my yoga teachers used
to make students laugh during classes. One student asked him if these jokes would take away
something from the yoga practice. The teacher said - don't be serious, be sincere. This quote has
defined my work ever since. Whether its my writing, my job, my relationships or any of my
goals. I get thousands of opinions on my writing everyday. There is heaps of praise, there is
intense criticism. If I take it all seriously, how will I write? Or rather, how will I live? Life is not
to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited
validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do
we really need to get so worked up? It's ok, bunk a few classes, goof up a few interviews, fall in
love. We are people, not programmed devices.

I've told you three things - reasonable goals, balance and not taking it too seriously that will
nurture the spark. However, there are four storms in life that will threaten to completely put out
the flame. These must be guarded against. These are disappointment, frustration, unfairness and
loneliness of purpose.

Disappointment will come when your effort does not give you the expected return. If things don't
go as planned or if you face failure. Failure is extremely difficult to handle, but those that do
come out stronger. What did this failure teach me? is the question you will need to ask. You will
feel miserable. You will want to quit, like I wanted to when nine publishers rejected my first
book. Some IITians kill themselves over low grades â€" how silly is that? But that is how much
failure can hurt you. But it's life. If challenges could always be overcome, they would cease to be
a challenge. And remember - if you are failing at something, that means you are at your limit or
potential. And that's where you want to be.

Disappointment' s cousin is frustration, the second storm. Have you ever been frustrated? It
happens when things are stuck. This is especially relevant in India. From traffic jams to getting
that job you deserve, sometimes things take so long that you don't know if you chose the right
goal. After books, I set the goal of writing for Bollywood, as I thought they needed writers. I am
called extremely lucky, but it took me five years to get close to a release. Frustration saps
excitement, and turns your initial energy into something negative, making you a bitter person.
How did I deal with it? A realistic assessment of the time involved â€" movies take a long time
to make even though they are watched quickly, seeking a certain enjoyment in the process rather
than the end result â€" at least I was learning how to write scripts, having a side plan â€" I had
my third book to write and even something as simple as pleasurable distractions in your life -
friends, food, travel can help you overcome it. Remember, nothing is to be taken seriously.
Frustration is a sign somewhere, you took it too seriously.

Unfairness - this is hardest to deal with, but unfortunately that is how our country works. People
with connections, rich dads, beautiful faces, pedigree find it easier to make it â€" not just in
Bollywood, but everywhere. And sometimes it is just plain luck. There are so few opportunities
in India, so many stars need to be aligned for you to make it happen. Merit and hard work is not
always linked to achievement in the short term, but the long term correlation is high, and
ultimately things do work out. But realize, there will be some people luckier than you. In fact, to
have an opportunity to go to college and understand this speech in English means you are pretty
damm lucky by Indian standards. Let's be grateful for what we have and get the strength to
accept what we don't. I have so much love from my readers that other writers cannot even
imagine it. However, I don't get literary praise. It's ok. I don't look like Aishwarya Rai, but I have
two boys who I think are more beautiful than her. It's ok. Don't let unfairness kill your spark.

Finally, the last point that can kill your spark is isolation. As you grow older you will realize you
are unique. When you are little, all kids want Ice cream and Spiderman. As you grow older to
college, you still are a lot like your friends. But ten years later and you realize you are unique.
What you want, what you believe in, what makes you feel, may be different from even the
people closest to you. This can create conflict as your goals may not match with others. . And
you may drop some of them. Basketball captains in college invariably stop playing basketball by
the time they have their second child. They give up something that meant so much to them. They
do it for their family. But in doing that, the spark dies. Never, ever make that compromise. Love
yourself first, and then others.

There you go. I've told you the four thunderstorms - disappointment, frustration, unfairness and
isolation. You cannot avoid them, as like the monsoon they will come into your life at regular
intervals. You just need to keep the raincoat handy to not let the spark die.

I welcome you again to the most wonderful years of your life. If someone gave me the choice to
go back in time, I will surely choose college. But I also hope that ten years later as well, your
eyes will shine the same way as they do today. That you will Keep the Spark alive, not only
through college, but through the next 2,500 weekends. And I hope not just you, but my whole
country will keep that spark alive, as we really need it now more than any moment in history.
And there is something cool about saying - I come from the land of a billion sparks.

Thank You.
Life is a single line walk
- Siddharth

The men walk in a single line on the face of the earth.

Each of them has a bag placed on his chest and a bag on his back.

In the first bag we place our qualities.

In the second we place our shortcomings. Each man has his own criteria for deciding both shortcoming
and advantages or qualities.

During this long march that we call life, we keep our eyes fixed on our front bag. We keep our eyes on
our front bag, although we aren't quite at our final destination, but we feel we shall arrive there soon.

During this time, on our backs we still have the weight of our vices which hang miserably.

We pretend to ignore it, because we are too busy,

We consider our duty to reproach the defect of our companions, people around us,
which are in front of us and we are free to see that they have a bag of drawbacks.

We consider that we are better then him, forgetting that those who walk behind us can also see our
bag of drawbacks. Those also consider us less deserving and do not give us the respect we need.

Isn't this the situation we live every day?

This short text should remind us that our position is relative among men: we are not better or worst
then other around us.

We should give our companion the benefit of doubt and give him the chance to change for the better,
without reproaching his shortcomings.
To love or never be loved
- Srinath

I think that life is about loving and as humans we need to love life to enjoy it. I think it’s easier
to deal with the heart break of never being loved than to never understand what it is or
misunderstanding the person who we expect love from. -- It is also easier to never love, but I
would rather break my own heart than that of those who love me.

"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it
subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so
entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is.
Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal
passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art
and a fortunate accident.” - Captain Corelli's Mandolin.

"Love is the beauty of the soul."--St. Augustine.

Inspired to Lead? Lead to Inspire!
- Anamika

Great leaders communicate a vision and then inspire others to reach it. They use trust,
collaboration and empowerment to achieve shared goals. Sharing a vision takes getting to
know who you're working with and learning to speak their language. You have to find out
the hopes and dreams of your workers, what motivates and moves them and let them know
that you have their best interests at heart.

Inspirational leaders:

1) Give life to hopes and dreams.

2) Help others to visualize what the future holds.

3) Create unity by connecting dreams to the common good.

4) Show enthusiasm for shared visions.

5) Are expressive and use vibrant language.

6) Create movement and change.

Some good thoughts to make this world more
beautiful

4 RULES TO LIVE BY! DRINK, STEAL,
SWEAR & LIE
- Anbu

I met this person who has a motto he lives by everyday. He said " listen carefully and
live by these 4 rules: Drink, Steal, Swear, & Lie."

I was shaking my head 'no', but he then told me to listen while he explained his four rules. So
here they are:

1. "Drink" from the "everlasting cup" every day.

2. "Steal" a moment to help someone that is in worse shape than you are.

3. "Swear" that you will be a better person today than yesterday.

4. And last, but not least, when you "lie" down at night thank God you live in a country where
you have religious freedom.

I am not as good as I should be. I am not as good as I could be. But THANK GOD, I am better
than I used to be!
Those were the best days of my life
- Ramu

Just putting down what’s going through my mind...

We (I) always think of past and future and imagine all the worst things (that will never happen)
and then keep on worrying instead of enjoying the current moment. I am not saying I worry
always....

We always think there is some hidden happiness lying in the future and we try to wait for the
happiness and strive hard at the current moment for that future happiness...
but we always think that past days are very good days..but those days are no longer available
now to enjoy...

when I was in school...I used to think like if I get into college, then life will be happy...I need not
do this damn home work...no more chasing by teachers..so expecting happiness in future...

when I was in college...I used to think like if I get a good rank, then I ll be happy...but used to
think about how happy my school days were...

when I entered one of top most engineering college...I used to think like life will be awesome if I
get a good job..but used to miss old school days...

when I got into top company... still pursuing for something...may be if I get into US..life will be
extremely good...but used to my college days (used to sing those were the best days of my
life.....)

After I got what I dream of...still pursuing for something...but missing days in India..
expecting some hidden happiness in the future...

So I have realized that happiness is not in the past, not in the future...IT IS WITH YOU RIGHT
NOW...we do not realize it now...we go to the future and we sing again the Summer of 69..Those
were the best days of my life...
Eagles in a storm!!!
- Ramesh

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks?

The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets
its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below,
the eagle is soaring above it.

The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the
winds that bring the storm.

When the storms of life come upon us - and all of us will experience them - we can rise above
them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us.
We can allow God's power to lift us above them.

God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure and
disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm.

Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down; it is how we handle them.
We Choose How to Live
- Tejaswi

All men and women are born, live, suffer and die;
What distinguishes us one from another is our dreams.

Whether they be dreams about worldly or unworldly things,

and what we do to make them come about...
We do not choose to be born.
We do not choose our parents.

We do not choose our historical epoch, the country of our birth,

or the immediate circumstances of our upbringing.
We do not, most of us, choose to die;
nor do we choose the time and conditions of our death.

But within this realm of choicelessness,

We do choose how to live.
Emotional Balance Is Essential For Healthy
Living
- Spiritual

Emotional balance is considered mastered when our mind, body and spirit are in line with each
other and we are in a space where we have done our inner work and we feel at peace. We need to
pay attention that all situations and life issues are resolved, or at least aired, and pay attention to
the feelings that emerge from within us.

Many times our emotional balance is ignored and passed off as stress, discomfort, boredom and
distraction; and we try and fix it by all sorts of ways that really just don't work. Some of those
fix-it methods are eating, eating comfort foods, shopping, over working, and the list can go one,
and we never get to the core of why we just can't feel better.

Emotional balance is as important as any other health aspect and some times even more, as it can
accelerate our other health issues, in fact it can actually be the cause of other health issues. It is
one of the most important aspects to the whole body balance.

When you are out of balance it creates stress and conflict in your relationships; and that is all of
your relationships, which include family, employment, road rage, marital, friendships and right
down to the shopping clerk. So you can see how emotional balance is as important as physical
health, in fact even more so as it effects your physical health. You truly can't improve your
physical health with out balancing your emotional.

A regular spiritual practice can greatly assist in centering you and maintaining clarity about those
aspects of your life, which are truly important. This can be any kind of spiritual practice
including yoga, meditation, qi gong, prayer, EFT; it is something good to practice on a daily
basis and preferably in the morning and the evening. Feng sui is great for peace and tranquility in
the home and work space, as with the proper placement of objects and de-clutter, it creates a
calm soothing energy in your space.
If you feel your emotional balance is off, improving your diet is one positive step you can take,
your mind, body and spirit can work much closer together if your food intake is in balance, that
means eliminating items such as caffeine, sugar, processed foods, soda, cigarettes and eating
whole, organic foods.

Work on creating a positive outlook and attitude on life, always look for the good in everything
and start being grateful, especially when you feel there isn't anything to be grateful for; you can
always find something. When you do this it shifts your energy into balance. You will feel lighter,
brighter and much healthier.
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

- Sayan

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry.
Two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.

One of these days is yesterday with its mistakes and cares,

Its faults and blunders, Its aches and pains.
Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.
All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday.
We cannot undo a single act we performed.
We cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone.

The other day we should not worry about is tomorrow.

With its possible adversities, Its burdens, its large promise and poor performance.
Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.
Tomorrow's Sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds, but it will rise.
Until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is yet unborn.

This just leaves only one day . . . Today.

Any person can fight the battles of just one day.
It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities - yesterday and tomorrow
that we break down.

It is not the experience of today that drives people mad.

It is the remorse or bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what
tomorrow may bring.

Let us therefore live but one day at a time.

Greatness Poems
-Srinivas
Don’t Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will;

When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high;
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Success is failure turned inside out;

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are;
It may be near when it seems afar.
So, stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things go wrong that you mustn't quit.

The Will to Win

If you want a thing bad enough

To go out and fight for it,
Work day and night for it,
Give up your time and your peace and
your sleep for it

If only desire of it
Makes you quite mad enough
Never to tire of it,
Makes you hold all other things tawdry
and cheap for it

If life seems all empty and useless without it

And all that you scheme and you dream is about it,

If gladly you'll sweat for it,

Fret for it, Plan for it,
Lose all your terror of God or man for it,

If you'll simply go after that thing that you want.

With all your capacity,
Strength and sagacity,
Faith, hope and confidence, stern pertinacity,
If neither cold poverty, famished and gaunt,
Nor sickness nor pain
Of body or brain
Can turn you away from the thing that you want,

If dogged and grim you besiege and beset it,

You'll get it!

I Resign

I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult.

I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities

of an 8-year-old again.

I want to go to McDonald's and think that it's a four star restaurant.

I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and

make ripples with rocks.

I want to think M&Ms are better than money because

you can eat them.

I want to lie under a big oak tree and run a lemonade

stand with my friends on a hot summer day.

I want to return to a time when life was simple.

When all you knew were colors, multiplication tables,

and nursery rhymes,

but that didn't bother you, because you didn't know what
you didn't know and you didn't care.

All you knew was to be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that
should

make you worried or upset.

I want to think the world is fair.

That everyone is honest and good.

I want to believe that anything is possible.

I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and

be overly excited by the little things again.

I want to live simple again.

I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing

news,

how to survive more days in the month than there is

money in the bank, doctor bills, gossip,

illness, and loss of loved ones.

I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind

word, truth, justice, peace, dreams,

the imagination, mankind, and making angels

in the snow.

So...here's my checkbook and my car keys, my credit

cards and all my responsibility.

I am officially resigning from adulthood.

And if you want to discuss this further, you'll have to

catch me first, 'cause,

"Tag! You're it."

Anyway

People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered.

Love them anyway!

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.

Do good anyway!
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway!

The good you do today, will be forgotten tomorrow.

Do good anyway!

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.

Be honest and frank anyway!

The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest people with the
smallest minds;
Think big anyway!

People favor underdogs, but follow only top dogs.

Fight for underdogs anyway!

What you spend years building up may be destroyed overnight.

Build anyway!

People really need help, but will attack you if you help them.
Help them anyway!

Give the world the best you have and it may kick you in the teeth.
Give the world the best you've got anyway!

Change your Thinking

By Changing Your Thinking,

You change your beliefs;

When you change your beliefs,

You change your expectations;

When you change your expectations,

You change your attitude;

When you change your attitude,

You change your behavior;

When you change your behavior,

You change your performance;
When you change your performance;
You Change Your Life!
Change your world

You cannot change the world, but you can present the
world with one improved person, yourself.

You can go to work on yourself to make yourself into

the kind of person you admire and respect.

You can become a role model and set a standard for others.

You can control and discipline yourself to resist acting or

speaking in a negative way toward anyone for any reason.

You can insist upon always doing things the loving way,
rather than the hurtful way.

By doing these things each day, you can continue on your

journey toward becoming an exceptional human being.

Winning and Losing

Some of the significant differences between

winning and losing are:

Hanging on, persevering,

WINNING
Letting go, giving up easily,
LOSING

Accepting responsibility for your actions,

WINNING
Always having an excuse for your actions,
LOSING

Taking the initiative,

WINNING
Waiting to be told what to do,
LOSING
Knowing what you want and setting goals to achieve it,
WINNING
Wishing for things, but taking no action,
LOSING

Seeing the big picture, and setting your goals accordingly,

WINNING
Seeing only where you are today,
LOSING

Do Less

DO LESS THINKING,
and pay more attention to your heart.

DO LESS ACQUIRING,
and pay more attention to what you already have.

DO LESS COMPLAINING,
and pay more attention to giving.

DO LESS CONTROLLING,
and pay more attention to letting go.

DO LESS CRITICIZING,
and pay more attention to complementing.

DO LESS ARGUING,
and pay more attention to forgiveness.

DO LESS RUNNING AROUND,

and pay more attention to stillness.

DO LESS TALKING,
and pay more attention to silence.
Take time

Take time to think-

It is the source of all power.
Take time to read-
It is the fountain of wisdom.

Take time to play-

It is the source of perpetual youth.
Take time to be quiet-
It is the opportunity to seek God.

Take time to be aware-

It is the opportunity to help others.
Take time to love and be loved-
It is God’s greatest gift.

Take time to laugh-

It is the music of the soul.
Take time to be friendly-
It is the road to happiness.

Take time to dream-

It is what the future is made of.
Take time to pray-
It is the greatest power on earth.

Take time to give-

It is too short a day to be selfish.
Take time to work-
It is the price of success.

There is a time for everything. . .

I asked God

I asked God to take away my grief.

And God said, "No....
It is not for Me to take away,
But for you to work through."
I asked God to make my broken heart whole.
And God said, "No ....
Your spirit is whole,
Your pain is only temporary."
I asked God to grant me patience.
And God said, "No....
Patience is a by-product of tribulation,
It isn't granted, it's earned."
I asked God to give me happiness.
And God said, "No....
I give blessings,
Happiness is up to you."
I asked God to spare me pain.
And God said, "No...
Suffering draws you apart from worldy cares
And brings you closer to me."
I asked God to make my spirit grow.
And God said, "No....
Grow on your own.
I do the pruning that makes you fruitful."
I asked God if He loved me.
And God said, "Yes....
I gave My only Son to die for you."
I asked God to help me love others
As much as He loves me.
He said, "Ah, finally, you have the idea."
My name is gossip

My Name Is Gossip
I have no respect for justice
I maim without killing
I break hearts and ruin lives
I am cunning and malicious
and gather strength with age
The more I am quoted
the more I am believed
I flourish at every level of society
My victims are helpless
They cannot protect themselves
against me because I have no
name and no face.
To track me down is impossible.
The harder you try
the more elusive I become
I am nobody's friend…
Once I tarnish a reputation,
it is never the same
I topple governments
and ruin marriages
I end ministries set up by God
I ruin careers and cause
sleepless nights, heartache
and indigestion.
I spawn suspicion and generate grief.
I make innocent people cry in their pillows.
Even my name hisses.
I am called Gossip
Office gossip
Shop gossip
Party gossip
Telephone gossip
Online gossip
I make headlines and headaches!
Before You Repeat A Story,
Ask Yourself...
Is it true?
Is it fair?
Is it necessary?
Would I want it done to me?
Killing with words.
