This question pops up pretty regularly whenever people are discussing job search strategy which is a
good thing because there are still too many who seem to undervalue the impact of a well written
follow-up letter. That being said, this doesn’t need to be an either-or proposition. Do both. Send an
email message the next business day while the iron is still hot and compose your hardcopy
document to be placed in the mail at the same time. This keeps your information fresh but it also

ensures another “touch” for you in the process to keep your name in the mix…
