SUB TASK

19

Write a reflective essay on your learning process in completing this
assignment. Your essay should be about 500 words. In your essay, you
should:
Highlight the strength and weaknesses while carrying out this
task.
Explain the actions that you have taken to overcome the
weaknesses.
Discuss the knowledge, experience and skills that you have
gained.

I learnt Language Description 2 in my second semester in foundation programme.
Last month my lecturer gave us an assignment regarding this subject. The
assignment based on two main topic which are moods and type of sentences.
Firstly, I faced many difficulties during completing this assignment. For example,
when I was doing the sub task 1 which I have to identify the mood of the sentences,
it was really confused e because sometimes I misuse the functions of the mood to
another mood. Then, in sub task 2, writing dialogue also very hard because I need to
use the mood and create my own dialogue. Before this, I had a thought that finding
types of sentences are easy but once I did it in my course work, then only I knew that
it is also very difficult to do it. This is because I could not manage to find the
sentences in many articles, so I have to choose many articles to do this task.

20

Moreover, time management was another problem which makes me into trouble. I
received many assignments at one time. So, I did not know how to manage time to
do all the assignments. At the same time, I had to involve in sports practices. Once I
finished my practices, I felt tired and sleepy. Then, the most important was I need to
prepare myself for the mock examination. I was stressed up with many activities so I
was not able to do this assignment when I received it.

Furthermore, I took many effective actions to solve all my problems. I did my own
schedule to do all the assignments. For example, I sent a day to an assignment then
the next day I did another assignment. It felt better and more comfortable for me.
Then, I controlled myself from sleeping in the afternoon. At this time, I was able to do
my revision for the mock examination. At last, I managed to complete my assignment
on the time.
In addition, I gained a lot of knowledge, experience and skills through this
Language Description 2 course work. For example, when I started to find the
examples for type of sentences in newspaper and also internet articles, I improved
my general knowledge o many topics. I hope the knowledge that I gained from this
will help me to write essays in future. Besides, I found out that both my reading and
writing skills had improved a lot because I used both skills to complete this course
work.

21

Finally, I really glad after finish my Language Description 2 Course work. From
this I learnt that problems do not become obstacles for us. We should work hard to
complete our task which will lead us to succeed.

Focused, hard work is the real key to success. Keep your eyes on the goal, and just
keep taking the next step towards completing it. If you aren't sure which way to do
something, do it both ways and see which works better. - John Carmack
