Why do we need the Holy
Spirit baptism
1. He is the ability to walk in power of Christ on earth:
Acts.1:8 power to witness
2. Baptism allows the Holy Spirit to intercede on our
behalf
1Cor.14:2 - For he who speaks in a tongue does not
speak to men but to God, for no one understands him;
however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
3. Helps us in our infirmities/weakness
Rom.8:26 with unutterable groanings
4. Helps us to pray
Rom.8:26,27 the Holy Spirit makes intercession for
us for we do not know what we should pray for

5. Builds us up
J ude.1:20 - building up yourselves praying in the
most Holy Ghost
Eph.3:14-16 - that (God) would grant you to be
strengthened by His (Holy) Spirit in the inner man

6. Comforts

How to be baptised in the
Holy Ghost
1. You must be born again
Acts.8:15-17 only they were baptised in the name of the Lord
J esuslaid hands and they received the Holy Ghost
2. Desire the H.S.
J n7:37-39 If any man thirst, let him come to me and drink
Mt.5:6 hunger, thirst after righteousness: for they will be filled
3. Confess any sin
Acts.2:38,39 Repentbe baptised.receive the Holy Spirit.for
your children.and those who are afar off, even as many as God
shall call
4. Faith to receive
Gal.3:2,5 Received the Spirit by the hearing of faith
5. Ask from God in prayer
Lk.11:9-13 - .shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to
them that ask Him
How to be baptised in the
Holy Ghost
6. Lay hands in faith
Acts 8:15-18 - they laid their hands and they received the Holy
Ghost
Acts 19:6 And when Paul laid his hands upon them; they spake
with tongues and prophecied
7. Open your mouth & speak be assured you are already filled
2Cor.5:7 we walk by faith, not by sight [re:Lk.11:9-13])
