1 Configuration
This document is intended for personnel tasked with preparing the Honeywell Scanners for
deployment to Copa Airlines. The steps contained in this document should be followed
without exception.
1.1 Required Software
The following software is required to complete the configuration procedure contained in
this document. If you don't have a digital copy, it can be found at:

WHQL-03-08-2013)Configuration Steps
The following steps should be followed to configure a Honeywell Scanner.
1.2 Unpack Device
Unbox the scanner, and label it with the Device ID
1.3 Install the Driver on the computer that will be connected to
Install the downloaded driver on the computer it will be connected to. If the device shows
up correctly in the list Window's list of devices, it has been installed correctly.
1.4 Configure the scanner
With the scanner connected to the computer, scan the following bar codes (no need to print
them, they can be scanned on the monitor) in the order they are shown here:

1. Activate Factory Defaults

2. USB Keyboard (PC)

3. Clear all suffixes


To test it has been configured correctly, open notepad and scan any barcode at hand
multiple times (or multiple barcodes). It should add the characters of the barcode to the
notepad document in a single line without adding carriage returns.
