In what concrete ways are you living your faith
through service to others?
Childrens liturgy needs your help!
Did you ever wonder where all the children go
during the UCCs morning Mass? Heres your
chance to find out! Volunteers are needed to
help lead Childrens Liturgy sessions at the 9:00
am Mass (10:30 am in the summer). If you
enjoy working with children, this is a great
opportunity to help bring the Sunday liturgy to them at a level they
can understand. For more information, email re@utcatholic.org.
Jesus says Peter is the rock on which the church will be founded.
Pope Francis is Peters successor. Take some time this week to
reflect on something you have seen Pope Francis do. How has it
touched your life? How can you follow his example?

The UCC would like to extend a big THANK YOU to those
UCC community members, students, and alumni who have
generously donated to help us pay for our new air conditioning
chiller! In less than a month, we have successfully raised the
entire $90,000 needed to fund the replacement chiller. This is
an incredible accomplishment and we are extremely grateful
for the generosity and support that our Catholic community
has shown during this time. Your contributions are enabling us
to continue to grow our Catholic campus ministry!

Welcome back Longhorns! And a huge UCC
welcome to new Longhorns, too! I had the
pleasure of joining Caroline Johnston, a
wonderful Longhorn herself, at the Longhorn
Luncheon with Charlie Strong. I am a die-hard
Longhorn fan, and if I wasnt already excited for
the coming year, I am excited now! We are thrilled to have you
back and are ready to kick off what is sure to be an amazing year!

If you think you might be interested in becoming
Catholic, the RCIA formation group will have its first meeting on
Sunday, September 14 after the 11:30 Mass! If you have any
questions at all, dont hesitate to email (dorothy@utcatholic.org)
or to call the office to chat with me. RCIA is an exciting adventure
and a no-pressure process. Come and check it out! We are always
looking for great sponsors, too, so if you are interested in serving
as a sponsor, let me know!

As Coach Strong said, we are looking to put the T back in Texas.
Here at the UCC, thats our goal every day. My door is always
open for anything you may need.

Hook em Horns, yall! Its going to be a great year!

Conversations with Pope Francis
This series runs from July 13th through September.
Meetings will be held 10:15 - 11:15 am Sunday
mornings in Newman Hall. Each week we will hear
an excerpt from Pope Francis The Church of Mercy
and then delve into what each reading means for us.
There is no need to attend all sessions, so come
when you can!
Important CALL FOR Volunteers!
The Greater Austin Chapter of the Knights of
Columbus has an excellent opportunity to raise
funds for the Diocese Office of Pro-Life Activities
and Chaste Living. We need your help!

The food Vendor for the Circuit of the Americas
has generously offered us the chance to staff some of their
concession stands for the Formula One Race Oct 31 - Nov 2.
We need over 400 volunteers signed up by August 29!
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. There is no entry charge.
Parking, breakfast & lunch will be provided. Mass will be offered
for volunteers by Msgr. Louis Pavlicek on Sunday before the race.

Funds raised will be donated to the Office of Pro-Life Activities and
Chaste Living, which supports a myriad of ministries in the Austin
Diocese: Project Rachel, Sidewalk Ministry, Gabriel Project, Pro-
Life Helpline, Natural Family Planning, Catechesis on Human Love
Certification, Texas Catholic Pro-Life Day, including the UT Party
for Life, the Coordination of Parish Pro-Life Committees, Culture
of Life Speakers Bureau, and much more.

Contact the Knights of Columbus right away at:
AustinKnightsF1@gmail.com, or call or text us at 512-387-0337.
Please let us know which of the 3 days you can work. If you can
work all three, that would be great!
