I am so excited about this upcoming school year.

One of our first projects

for the year is M.O.M. (Museum of Me). Please read over the information
below and we will discuss it on our first day of school on Friday, August

BRING YOUR M.O.M. TO SCHOOL DAY!
(M.O.M.- MUSEUM OF ME)

Each of us will be bringing our M.O.M. (Museum Of Me) to class Friday,
August 29
th
. The purpose of this homework assignment is to learn a little
something about one another. The M.O.M. Exhibit will be constructed using
6-8 objects or artifacts that explain who you are. Your M.O.M. may be as
creative as you like. Please use a SHOEBOX as a diorama to display your
M.O.M. Think about who you are and what items would best tell about you
as a person. Your M.O.M. must include the following items:
1. NAME-This should appear on your M.O.M. Create a colorful, boldfaced
design or use something that already has your name on it.
2. FAMILY-Maybe a photograph or a drawing.
3. BABY, OH BABY! This item could be a favorite toy, stuffed animal,
picture, or song from somewhere in your lifespan.
4. LITERACY-Your favorite book, poem, something you have written, or
read.
5. CULTURE-What is your heritage? One item should represent this area. A
flag, coins, drawing, or anything you have that is about you.
6. HOBBY-What do you like to do? Why?
7. UNIQUE YOU-One item should be something that is unique and special to
you. Maybe a sport, a special vacation place, a special relative or
friend, a hope or dream, volunteering experience, or something you do.
8. ONE LAST THING-Anything else youd like us to know.
We will be sharing our M.O.M.s with the whole class and explaining what
the items in our museums mean to us. Sharing times will be 3-5 minutes per
M.O.M. Use the form attached to write 2-5 sentences explaining what youve
brought and why. Please think twice about bringing anything breakable or
valuable. I cant wait to share my M.O.M. and hear about your M.O.M.
