1- At the coffee shop
Students can work alone and check in pairs. Go through the answers with the class. Model and drill pronunciation.

2- Listening
Get students to cover up the dialogue and focus on the questions. Play the audio file or animated video.
Alternatively, scan the QR code with your mobile device (make sure you have a QR code reader app installed on
your device). Play the scene once or twice and check answers. Then focus on the dialogue. Students can complete
the dialogue individually and check in pairs. Play the audio/scene again. Go through each line helping the students
to understand any unfamiliar expressions, e.g. `To have here or take away?'

3- Role play
Have the students practise saying the prices before they do the role play (e.g. $1.50 = "one dollar fifty" or "one
fifty"). Another currency may be substituted for the dollar if you prefer. Pair up the students into customer and
barrista. Customers should order one drink and one snack. Make sure students use the indefinite article a/an (e.g.
`an espresso') and base their role play on the dialogue in Ex2. Students then change roles.
