Table 1.1 shows the tabulated measurements acquired for the coins (10 cents,
25cents, 1peso, 5peso and 10peso). The mass was recorded together with the acquired
values for the diameter which was measured using the vernier caliper and the height
which was measured using the micrometer caliper. The highlighted table embodies the
mean value acquired for the three trials.

Table 2.1 shows the tabulated measurements acquired for the coins. For the
diameter, mass, volume and density, the standard value and acquired values were
recorded. Volume was obtained by using the formula

while the formula M/V

(mass over volume) was used to solve for density.

Table 3 shows the computed percent error for diameter, mass, volume and
density of the coins and the PVC. Percent error was obtained by subtracting the mean
from the standard value and dividing the difference from the standard value and
multiplying the quotient by 100. The errors which exceeded 5% was highlighted to
stress how huge the acquired percentage error was from the standard or accepted
value.

IV. Interpretation of Results

V. Problems
1. What factors affected the results that deviated from the standards? Explain.
2. Compute for the % error for the density of 5-peso coin.
3. How is accuracy and precision important in your everyday life?

VI. Generalization
