May 27 | PHILIPPINES Praise God for His work in the literacy program in Zamboanga. May 28 | SRI LANKA Praise God for the success of the National Pastors Conference in Sri Lanka. May 29 | LAOS The youth in Laos continue to be passionate for the gospel. Thank the Lord for the youth workers who never fail to pray, disciple, and follow-up with young believers. May 5th-11th: Ethiopia (#17) + For Open Doors as it supports widows, like Lalisa and Buze, whose husbands were brutally murdered for their faith. + For churches in southern Ethiopia supporting Muslim Background Believers who have been displaced from their communities. May 12th- 18th: Vietnam (#18) + For Christian leaders and pastors in the northern and central Highlands; authorities keep a close watch on their activities. + Thank God for Open Doors literacy program, aiming to help at least 2,000 believers. May 19th- 25th: Qatar (#19) + For Muslim Background Believers who strongly protect their anonymity for fear of betrayal. + For migrant workers living in inhumane conditions; being Christian adds to their vulnerability.

May 3 | CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC A pastor is asking for prayer for Seleka rebels- that Christians would be able to minister to them and that they would find Christ. May 4 | KAZAKHSTAN Pastor Bakhytzhan was released from prison, but was sentenced with 4 years probation after he gave communion at his church. Praise God for his release, and pray for him while he appeals the 4 years probation. May 5 | WEST AFRICA Pray for encouragement and strength for a pastor who has been imprisoned for evangelizing. Refugees May 6 | NEPAL Persecuted Christians are thrown out of their villages, and are disowned by their families. Pray for them to remain strong. May 7 | LEBANON Pray for the refugees who now make up 40% of the population of Lebanon. May 8 | IRAQ The number of people leaving Iraq is increasing, and the number of Christians in Iraq is decreasing every day. Pray for these believers. May 9 | CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC Some displaced Christians are caving into pressures to convert to Islam. Pray that Christians would remain strong in their faith. May 10 | CHINA Pray for a Tibetan Background Believer who was facing persecution from her family, and was forced to escape and move to another city. Women

May 12 | MAURITANIA Pray for the widow and the many surviving children of a believer that passed away. They come from a very low stratum of society, and their future seems difficult. May 13 | TUNISIA Pray for a young woman who recently became a believer. She is under great pressure from her family. Pray for her security. May 14 | NORTH AFRICA Pray for a Christian woman whose faith has created conflict within her family. She finds it easier to interact with Christians than her own family or countrymen. Pray she would have a growing Christ-like love for her people. Churches May 15 | CAMEROON Pray for the churches in the northern part of the country and on the border between Cameroon and Nigeria. Christians live under constant threats from Boko Haram. May 16 | MAURITANIA Continue praying for more workers as the country needs more people who are committed to walking alongside the growing church. May 17 | LIBYA Pray for a new group of believers as they face great pressure from society. Pray for their protection. May 18 | TUNISIA Pray for unity in the Tunisian church- it is important that the body of Christ here realizes that they are one. May 19 | LEBANON Pray for all the churches and Christian organizations who are working hard to help the many who are in need. May 20 | BRUNEI Pray for believers who are new in their faith and desire to grow spiritually. They often are not accepted in Christian churches easily, because of government restrictions. May 21 | INDONESIA Pray for Christian workers with ministries among Muslims. Due to security reasons, they rarely receive support from local churches. May 22 | MALAYSIA Last year, Malaysias High Court ruled against the use of the word for God in non-Islamic publications. This will affect the current version of the Bible. Please pray for the Church in Malaysia to be wise in responding to this development. May 23 | MYANMAR (BURMA) A lot of churches in Myanmar are hard-pressed financially because they lack biblical training on stewardship. Pray that more training can take place. Prisoners May 24 | ARABIAN PENINSULA Please pray for those who have been taken captive through kidnappings or imprisonment. Lift up their families who wait for them to return home.
