Application Procedure and timelines
1. Partner institutes of IIMK will nominate students for pursuing international exchange programme at IIM Kozhikode. Only those pursuing their masters program are ELIGIBLE to apply for International Exchange Programme at IIM Kozhikode.
2. The nominated students for terms IV, V and VI are required to apply online (a web link will be sent in this regard) for the International Exchange Programme at IIMK as per the following timelines: Term IV - April 30, 2014 Terms V& VI - May 15, 2014 The following documents should be uploaded while filling up the application:
1. Latest curriculum vitae or resume in English (depending on the language of study) 2. Copy of passport 3. Academic transcripts of latest acquired degree 4. Colour photograph (max 200kb)
Hard copy of the application form along with the above documents and five passport size photographs should be submitted to the International Exchange office of IIMK upon arrival.
Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) is one of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) set up by Government of India. The IIMs are well known in the country and abroad for their academic excellence in management education. Founded in 1996 IIMK is one of the fastest growing B Schools in India and the first one of its kind to get AMBA accreditation.
Location
IIMK is located at Kozhikode in Kerala, the southernmost state of India
Programmes Postgraduate Programme in Management (PGP) is the flagship programme of IIMK. Other important programmes are Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), Doctoral Programme of IIMs; Interactive Distance Education Programmes; Faculty Development Programmes and Management Development Programmes. PGP programme is a two year programme consisting Six Terms (Trimesters). First year courses are aimed at building the foundation of the programme. In the second year of the programme, students register for elective courses of their choice.
Student Exchange
Exchange students are absorbed in Terms IV, V and VI of the second year of the programme. IIMK students go on exchange visit during their Term V.
Structure & Courses
Each course in IIMK Post Graduate Programme is structured around the concept of credit. Each credit represents 10 hours of classroom sessions. A student should earn a minimum of 15 credits and a maximum of 18 credits for Terms IV&V. Whereas, for Term VI, a minimum of 12 credits and a maximum of 15 credits (1 ECTS = 0.81 IIMK Credits) is required. Grading System
IIMK follows a grading scheme of 13 levels ranging from A+ to F as given in the table below:

Acceptance Letter
Once the students from the partner universities submit the online application before t he deadlines ment i oned, t hey are processed and an Acceptance Letter is issued by the Exchange Coordinator to the concerned student.
Visa Exchange students need a Student Visa for studying in India. To get one, the student should contact the Visa Department at the Indian Embassy of the home country concerned along with the Acceptance Letter issued by the Exchange Coordinator. In case of any particular stamp/ seal on visa, the students are advised to bring it to the notice of the coordinator at IIMK International Exchange Office.
Accommodation Single/double occupancy student hostel accommodation is provided on the basis of availability.
Tuition Fee No tuition fee is charged from the students of partner institutions coming on exchange visit to IIMK. Industrial visits Logistics Fee IIMK facilitates industrial visits for international students in Term V. Towards travel and accommodation, approximately USD 250 will be levied. Accommodation Fee At present INR 16,000 (USD 260) is the accommodation fee for a term (likely to be revised)
Student Canteen All the students are expected to have their meals from the students canteen. An elected students body is in charge of running the affairs. A monthly expense of INR 7,000 (USD 125) is sufficient for a student to meet the boarding expense in normal course.
Other Living Expenses For occasional outing and sightseeing in and around Kozhikode, an expense of INR 5000 per month would be sufficient. Naturally living expenses vary from person to person according to the spending habits.
Health Insurance
All exchange students are advised to have a health insurance from their home country, which covers medical repatriation for the full Term.
Medical facilities In the campus
A full-fledged dispensary is available in the campus. Doctors attend the students and employees in the campus during scheduled timings. Also arrangements are there with some hospitals, where students and employees can go for medical treatments.
Other facilities Library: IIMK has a well-endowed library, with a collection of 32436 Books, 30,000 e-Books, 265 print Journals and over 15500 Electronic Journals (full-text as well as aggregated), over 3521 Bound Volumes, over 3000 CD-ROM publications, Corporate Information of over 15,000 companies
Computing facilities: Wireless network connects all the classrooms, library, hostel rooms and the Computer Centre. There are more than 300 multimedia personal computers for use round the clock.
Museum The Indian Business Museum at IIMK spans over 23,000 sq. ft. area with theme-based sections. This museum is the first of its kind, unique, monumental, and significant in acknowledging the contribution of Indias business leaders in the making of India.
Sports facilities Facilities for indoor and outdoor games and a well equipped gymnasium are available.
Climate
Climate in Kozhikode is tropical. Kozhikode is a coastal town situated on the coast of Arabian Sea. Temperature varies from 25 degree Celsius to maximum 34 degree Celsius in summer. June to August is monsoon season. Visitors during the monsoon season are advised to take adequate precaution for rainy season like umbrella, rain coat and shoes/slippers, etc.
Airport Kozhikode International Airport is 40 KMs from IIMK campus. Daily domestic flights to Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and international flights to Singapore, Colombo and middle-east destinations are available. Pre-paid taxi service is available from the airport.
Railway Station Kozhikode railway station is 15 KMs from the campus. Kozhikode is well connected by rail with different parts of the country. Daily train service to important cities in the country is available.
Tourist Spots near Kozhikode
Kappad Beach, Muzhappilangad Drive-in-Beach, Thusharagiri, Edakkal Caves, Pookote Lake, Nelliampathy, and Silent Valley are some of them.
