Objectives :
1. Perform site investigation (CLO2)
2. Proposed a simple network design based on project goals (CLO2)
3. Prepare a network design proposal (CLO3)

Problem statement :
Prepare a proposal for one of the organization listed below :
1. 24 hr Restaurant
2. Public library
3. Mini stadium

Job tasks :
As a network engineer in the company, prepare a response document for a RFP from an organization
above. The general business goals, business scope and network requirements of the organization are as
below :
1. Business goals :
a. Create a network to facilitate staff and/or customers to easily connect to the internet
2. Business scope :
a. Network can be wired, wireless or both.
b. Create a network that can support up to 50 persons of staffs and/or customers at a time.
3. Requirements for network :
a. Network can support 100% uptime
b. The proposed network should consider the use of bandwidth, network prioritization that
consists of voice, video and data traffic.
c. Should complete and ready to use within one month after proposal endorsement

To do this task, you are required to perform onsite survey to collect the information from the organization
or location (real location) that you choose. The information needed during onsite survey include :
a. Name of your customer
b. Need for upgrade or new network
c. Survey on existing network
d. Photos of network location
e. Photos of floor plan
f. Network users
g. Technical requirements
h. Network applications and services
i. Project constraints (cost, schedule and resources)

Objectives :

2. Create a prototype to validate a network design (CLO2)
3. Prepare a network design proposal and prototype presentation

Problem statements :

Based on proposal in previous Problem Based Task 1, prepare a prototype of network design. After
submitted the proposal of organization or location to your customer, next process is to prepare a prototype
for your customers to view and validate the proposed design.

Job tasks :
1. Prepare a prototype
As a network engineer in the company, prepare a prototype based on your design in the proposal.
i. Create network design prototype
ii. Network functions : Design and show it using Packet Tracer

Ensure that your prototype has fulfill the requirements of general business goals, business scope and
network requirements below :
1. Business goals :
a. Create a network to facilitate staff and/or customers to easily connect to the internet
