COURSE OUTCOME
COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Students will acquire the ability to:
1. Describe the key concepts of process engineering drawing, conventional signs, symbols
lettering and geometry. Illustrate the concepts of process drawing and the objectives of
engineering drawings.
2. Select the principal engineering drawing instruments needed in a process based on
specific process structure and give examples of detailed process drawings classified as
the drafting media.
3. Demonstrate different types of orthographic drawings to view projections, circular
features, and different types of pictorial drawings that relate to the piping systems.
4. Illustrate the concept of computer aided drawing using AUTOCAD. Relates the
dimensioning sectional views and select hatch patterns from AUTOCAD.
5. Demonstrate and explain the proper drawing sheets of a typical chemical plant using
VISIO. Integrate the chemical processes flow sheet using VISIO.
