COMMUNITY
FREE CHURCH
WEEKLY
After a couple of weather delays we were nally able
to get the sign cabinet refurbished, painted, and the
new sign boards installed. This past weekend, many
asked if we had changed the church name because
of the addition of Evangelical. Since October 15th,
1992 we have been an active member of the
Evangelical Free Churches of America, but have
chosen to use the informal version Free Church.
Recently, the updated style guide for EFCA logo use
called for the using of EFCA rather than E-Free
or Free Church, if possible. As always, we support
the denomination which supports us.

PRAY FOR PASTOR SAEED ABEDINI
From email to information, we are relying on the
internet more and more. Therefore it is important
that we as a church have an easy to use and
informative website.
Our cost to maintain an internet site is $149 a year
(very low in comparison to other hosted sites).
This is accomplished because Pastor Jason and
Pastor Jake are able update and create content for
the website instead of contracting out. We spend
roughly 2-4 hours a week maintaining the website.
In the last 30 days we have had 202 unique
visitors to our website totaling 615 page views.
This is a rise of 2.9% of unique visitors.
We have also had 107 rst time visitors to our
website. In addition we see anywhere from 6-20
downloads of our weekly message.
In addition a mirror site that we use for AWANA
was a huge success in connecting people to this
vital childrens ministry.
In the last 30 days it had 137 unique visitors
totaling 437 page views. In addition we had 50+
online registrations that came through this
website.
What this tells us, is that keeping our website
fresh, updated, and informative is important.
Are you interested in helping to maintain the
website? Let us know.
CFC Website
Our homepage now sports a logo that mirrors the
new sign out front. People can now easily recognize
and the connect the church and the web presence.
The missions page now has each missionary
highlighted and the picture is clickable taking the
visitor to their website or missions page. This is
hopefully a great way to connect website visitors
with our missionaries.
The Christian Education page now has each
individual ministry segregated by type with a
unique logo. It is a great way for someone to easily
nd what they might be looking to connect to.
From here a visitor can access the Community
Group and AWANA pages to get further
information on how to attend.
This past week our website received a facelift. It is
impossible to show all the new things done here so
please head over to: communityfreechurch.com
and check it out.
So far we have been seeking,
followed by worshiping, which
leads us to proclamation.
We will proclaim that the
Bible, from the rst
revelation of the Old
Testament to the close of the
New Testament is the Word
of God. It is His Living Word
to us, and when it speaks, it
is God Himself speaking
truth to us. He is alive!
There is a movement afoot in
evangelicalism to marginalize
the Old Testament. Those that
attempt to do so cite that it is a
collection of poetic prose,
allegory, metaphor, peppered
with historical fact. They
contend there wasnt really a
ood or an ark. They may also
say, Jonah did not get caught
up in the belly of a sh, and
(gasp!) there was never a man
named Adam.
I remember sitting with a
pastor two years ago over
lunch, and he told me he did
not believe in the Old
Testament. I was shocked! It is
one thing to read about this
kind of stuff, but quite another
to eat lunch with it.
Matthew 5:17
Do not think that I have come
to abolish the Law or the
Prophets; I have not come to
abolish them but to fulll them.
If the Old Testament is untrue,
then Jesus just proclaimed that
He came to fulll that which
was false. Now, if this was you
or me we might get a pass, but
this is Jesus, the son of God,
which in the words of C.S.
Lewis, "makes Him either a liar,
lunatic, or Lord."
Where you sit on this issue
decides how you view Jesus.
If Jesus is truly the righteous
one of God, and the Old
Testament is untrue, then in
righteousness He would have
abolished it. Instead, because
the whole of the Old Testament
is the true revelation of Him,
He fullls it. To get rid of, or
marginalize the Old Testament,
is to diminish and marginalize
the Messianic work of Christ.
So, in attacking the Old
Testament one is really
assaulting the character and
credibility of Jesus Christ, but
it doesnt stop there. In recent
years, there has been a surge
of liberal scholarship who have
begun to question the integrity
of Paul. The human author
superintended to write of the
greatest breadth of the
inspired New Testament.
The problem with picking on
Paul is that Jesus Himself
picked Paul on the Damascus
Road. So, either He does not
know how to call people for
His purposes, thereby not
being divine, or He is divine
and knows who He calls. To
attack Paul is to attack the
person of Jesus Christ, and
furthermore, the illuminated
work of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus addressing the
Pharisees in John 10:35 said to
them Scripture cannot be
broken.
In the same breath, He
references veriable historical
gures; the Queen of Sheba
and the men of Nineveh
(Matthew 12:38-42) next to
Noah and Jonah. Is it true? I
think it would be just crazy for
anyone to believe that they
know Biblical history better
than Jesus.
So then, those who claim to
love Jesus, but cannot accept
the whole of scripture, the
proclamation of God by His
Holy Spirit, place themselves
in a position of rebellion
towards the work of Jesus.
Rebellion against scripture is
rebellion against Jesus.
If we believe that the Bible is
inerrant (without error), inspired
(given by God), and infallible
(unfailing), then the problem is
not Jesus or the Bible, but us.
Interestingly this is what the
Bible itself tells us.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fallen
short.
An attack on the Bible (the Old
and New Testament) is an
attack on the authority of
Christ Himself. It is to say that
the action of creation,
prophetic revelation, emptying
of divinity, coming in poverty,
teaching in integrity, suffering
brutality, dying in humility, and
rising again gloriously carries
with it no authority is simply
not true. Jesus has risen, and
the nal stamp of authority is
His resurrection.
Paul tells us this in 1
Corinthians 15:14: And if
Christ has not been raised,
then our preaching is in vain
and your faith is in vain.
I understand there are places
in our lives where the Bible has
tough things to say to us, and
we each have to make a
choice in those places to either
realize our need for Jesus, or
rely on your arrogance apart
from Jesus. But, if we believe
that we can magnify grace by
shrinking down truth, we are
mistaken.
Kevin DeYoung said recently,
We have nothing to offer the
world if we dont have the
truth.
Proclaiming anything less than
the truth of the Word of God is
vain preaching, and hopeless
helping. It is offering a Christ
who is a lunatic, a liar, and
anything but a living Lord.
And that simply isnt true
Because Jesus is Alive!
