How to fill your catalogue file
Step 1: Familiarize yourself with the layout

All catalogue files have the same layout.
Each subcategory is a different sheet/tab. You have to list your products in specific subcategories.
Understanding column heads
Flipkart Serial Number: Every product listed on Flipkart.com has a Flipkart Serial Number (FSN). If you list a
product that is already being sold on the website, it will be assigned its existing FSN. In case the product is being
listed for the first time on the website, a new FSN will be generated for it.
QC Status: All listings are verified by Flipkart for correctness of data. Following quality check (QC), your listings
will be marked either 'Passed' or 'Failed'.
QC Failed Reason (if any): The reason why a listing has been 'Failed' will be added by Flipkart in this column.
Flipkart Product Link: Flipkart Product Link (FPL) is provided for every 'Passed' listing. You will be required to
check the product description of the listing by clicking the link. If you want to add a listing that is already
available on Flipkart.com, you simply have to add its FPL in this column besides mentioning the Seller SKU ID in
Product Data Status: If you agree with the product description of a 'Passed' listing after looking at its Flipkart
Product Link, mark it as 'Approved' in this column. You will not be allowed to change any data after you approve
a listing. If You mark a 'Passed' listing as 'Disapproved', it means your listing does not match the product
Disapproved Reason (if any): You will be required to provide the reason for disapproving a 'Passed' listing in this
column. This will help Flipkart get a clarity on the issue and work towards a resolution.
Understanding Rows
1st Row: You will find the attribute name here.
2nd Row: This row indicates the type of data you have to enter. For instance, it may show 'URL', which means
you can only add a web link in this field. This row also indicates how the attribute will show up on the product
page. For instance, it will tell you whether the data you enter will be used as an identifier, variant, title, or

Understanding Colour Codes
Grey cells: Grey cells will be filled by Flipkart. These will contain specific feedback on products you want to list.
For e.g., 'QC Fail Reason (if any)' will provide the reason why a listing is marked 'Failed'. The reason is provided
Blue cells: Blue cells have to be mandatorily filled by you or else your listing will be marked as 'Failed'.
Green cells: Green cells indicate good-to-have attributes but these are not binding on you to fill. The data you enter here enhances buyer experience.

If you have 2 or more variants of the same product, you have to create a separate listing for each. Which means
Understanding Some Attributes
Seller SKU ID: Seller SKU ID is the unique ID you maintain for every product variant.
Brand: Brand is an entity used by a company to sell or market a product.
EAN/UPC: EAN is a 13-digit bar code. In case you have UPC, prefix 0 to make it 13 digits. EAN/UPC is limited to
13 characters (including spaces).
Main Image URL: Refer to the links on image and URL guidelines included towards the end of the summary
Model ID: Model ID is the code assigned to a product by the manufacturer. Do not add the brand name while
Colour: Colour refers to the product's colour.
Type: Type refers to different kinds of the same product. For instance, if you are listing a camera, its type can be
Point & Shoot, SLR, Advanced Point & Shoot, Camcorder, Low Cost, Instant, and Mirrorless.
Description: Description is a write-up on the product in no more than 10,000 characters (including spaces). It
should not have hyperlinks, additional offers, or promotional text. It can include a list of compatible products.
For example, if a battery you list is compatible with 5 phones and 1 camera, mention these 6 products in the
description.
Sales Package: Sales Package gives the information of all the contents being sold in a package. For instance, if
you are listing a mobile phone, its sales package is likely to have handset::charger::headset::battery::manual.

Title and Subtitle: Title and Subtitle give the buyer a clear picture of the product. A subtitle is seen within
brackets below the title and is used to explain a product variant.
Refiners: Refiners such as Graphics Memory Type, Hard Disk Capacity, and Touchscreen simplify search and
provide better visibility to a product. These are used to help a customer narrow down on a product.

* Enter values according to prescribed norms only. There are validation checks for number/decimal/character
* Save the catalogue file frequently to prevent data loss due to system errors, etc. Do not rename the file.

Once you have filled out all necessary fields, upload the catalogue file by logging in to your seller account.
