PROFILE:
A self-motivated and hard working Livestock Development Officer and Environmentalist
with experience in all aspects of livestock production particularly in the areas concerned
with poverty alleviation; food security and rural transformation (i.e. commercialization of
the livestock sub-sector) as well as livestock environment interactions. Interests in
livestock nutrition, veterinary science, vertical integration in livestock production and
livestock environmental interaction especially on the issue of climate change. Ability to
use own initiative and work as part of a team. Proven leadership skills, including
managing and motivating other staff to achieve organisational objectives and leadership
roles at church and school. An effective communicator at all levels within an
organisation. Good problem solving and analytical skills as well as computer literacy.
Currently on a MSc. International Rural Development programme at The Royal
Agricultural College. Hold a BSc. Degree in Animal Production and Health from the
University of Swaziland; have been working for the Swaziland Water and Agriculture
Development Enterprise (SWADE) as a Livestock Development Officer from 2007.

Responsibilities include:
• Formulate short, medium and long-term plans and programs for agriculture
(livestock) development within SWADE’s project development areas,
• Advising farmers on the economics of adopting improved animal husbandry
