PREFACE

Four wheelers plays very useful and important role in the day to day life of every
modern state. Four wheelers have become a status symbol in our minds. We have
requirements of four wheelers for different reasons few of us use it for office
daily, few of us use it for traveling and few of use it as a status symbol these days.
We chose our Four wheelers on so many bases we see its mileage, its Average,
its looks, its power, its comforts, its brand, how economical it is. Gone are the
days when people use to purchase the four wheelers on the basis of good
averages, and mileage, now it is the new concept of power has come in the
market, youth has turned the flow of stream. We have so many we are have one
of the biggest automobile industry. In Bareilly also the trend has been changed.

OVERVIEW OF INDIAN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY

The automobile industry has changed the way people live and work. The earliest
of modern buseswas manufactured in the year 1895. Shortly the first appearance
of the car followed in India. As the century truned, three buseswere imported in
Mumbai (India). Within decade there were total of 1025 busesin the city.

The dawn of automobile actually goes back to 4000 years when the first wheel
was used for transportation in India. In the begining of 15th century Portuguese
arrived in China and the interaction of the two cultures led to a variety of new
technologies, including the creation of a wheel that turned under its own power.
By 1600s small steam-powered engine models was developed, but it took another
century before a full-sized engine-powered vehicle was created.

The actual horseless carriage was introduced in the year 1893 by brothers Charles
and Frank Duryea. It was the first internal-combustion motor car of America, and
it was followed by Henry Ford's first experimental car that same year.

One of the highest-rated early luxury automobiles was the 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver
Ghost that featured a quiet 6-cylinder engine, leather interior, folding
windscreens and hood, and an aluminum body. It was usually driven by
chauffeurs and emphasis was on comfort and style rather than speed.

During the 1920s, the busesexhibited design refinements such as balloon tires,
pressed-steel wheels, and four-wheel brakes. Graham Paige DC Phaeton of 1929
featured an 8-cylinder engine and an aluminum body.

The 1937 Pontiac De Luxe sedan had roomy interior and rear-hinged back door
that suited more to the needs of families. In 1930s, vehicles were less boxy and
more streamlined than their predecessors. The 1940s saw features like automatic
transmission, sealed-beam headlights, and tubeless tires.

The year 1957 brought powerful high-performance busessuch as Mercedes-Benz
300SL. This was the Indian automobile history, and today modern busesare
generally light, aerodynamically shaped, and compact.

Awards & Recognition
CV India Awards 2014
Double winnings for VECV at CV India event

Vinod Aggarwal, CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles was awarded CV Man of the
year while Eicher Skyline Pro brought home ICV People Mover of the year award.
Organized by CV India magazine every year, the award ceremony took place in
Mumbai on January 2014. It was a successful night for VECV, who took home two
awards for their outstanding performance in 2013.

For his achievements during the past year, Vinod Aggarwal was awarded CV Man
of the year. Our man of the years performance closely mirrors his companys. His
no-nonsense personality reflects in the companys balance sheets, which he
managed excellently, first as CFO and later as CEO.

Assets have been thoroughly sweated, even as operational efficiency incrementally
boosted. It is for this reason that VECV has registered the winning combination of
clean operational profitability coupled with zero debts, thereby fuelling the way for
further productive investments and continuing the virtuous cycle.

Under his watch, VECV has consolidated on its traditional strengths in the market,
while gradually creating capabilities for a larger foray into newer ones. In typical
style, he and the company have preferred to keep their cards close to their chests,
even as far-reaching plans are put into motion.

The company has gone from strength to strength, the joint venture has been
consolidated, a new range of powertrain and vehicles have rolled out in the recent

past. Meanwhile, market share has doubled, while capacity is all set to be
quadrupled over levels seen just 5-6 years ago. Our Man of the year has been
instrumental in driving this change.

The second award went to Eicher Skyline Pro who won ICV People Mover of the
year for its impressive specifications and application engineering. The Eicher
Skyline Pro Buses are developed on a completely new platform with excellent
aesthetics and wider seats offering additional comfort to the passengers. Eicher
Skyline Pro is 10 percent lighter than the equivalent buses ensuring best in class
fuel efficiency.

THEARTS

VE has always been identified as a traditional carmaker producing value-for-
money busesand right now the biggest hurdle VE is facing is to shed this image.
VE wants to change it for a more aggressive image. VE Baleno has failed due to
one of the major reasons being thatcustomers could not identify VE with a Bus as
sophisticated as VE . VE is looking forward to bring about a perception change
about the company and its cars.VE started the exercise with the new-look of
buses first markets for this radically different-looking Bus gave this endeavor a
nethrust. VE has also changed its logo at the front grill. It has replaced the
traditional VE logo on grill stylish M with S.
market. The next threat VE faces is the growing competition in compact
cars.Companies like other models are planning to come out with small segment
busesin near future.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research methodology is a way to systematically solve the research objective. It
may be understood as a science of studying how research is done scientifically.

In it we study the various steps that are generally adopted by researcher in studying
his research objective along with logic behind it. It is necessary for the researcher
to know not only the research methods/ techniques but also the methodology.
Researcher not only need to know how to apply particular research technique, but
also need to know which of these methods or techniques are relevant and which are
not and what would they mean and indicate and why. All this means that it is
necessary for the researcher to design his methodology for his objective under
study as the same may differ objective to objective.

Thus when we talk of research methodology we not only talk of the research
method but also consider the logic behind the methods we use in the context of a
research study and explain why we are using a particular method or techniques and
so that research results are capable of being evaluated.

which is also attached for references.
