I have, found the way to use ZIF Socket, for the project without
incurring extra costs. Its will be the same size, will support the
same chips and boards, same simple use, but now with amazing
ZIF socket (no more bent pins).

Introduction
Hi everyone. My name is Mantas and I'm the founder of CT3, I'm still recovering after my
last kickstarter campaign where I launched Crystal IO Shield. Now I'm coming back to
show you my new project.
Have you ever made a cool arduino project and wanted to make it permanent but didn't
want to sacrifice your arduino board. Or maybe you wanted to shrink your project and use
only few pins.
Now you can burn bootloaders and program atmega and attiny chips, without a need for
breadboard or fancy isp programmers, no more looking at the datasheets trying to figure
out how to program them. I present to you an "arduino as isp shield". It comes with the
support for the most popular arduino chips like atmega 328, atmega1284 , attiny
84,85,4323 and bunch of other pin compatible chips. And the best part is that it's the only
isp shield that works with arduino uno, leonardo, mega, freeduino, freakduino .... You get
the point.
It's comes as fun solder yourself package, including step by step instructions. And it's very
easy to use: just upload the arduino as isp sketch (depending on what board you want to
use) then place the desired chip on the shield and then click upload the sketch and your
are finished. Now you can make your own arduino clones. Or shirk your project using
various attiny chips, or maybe even unleash the power of atmega1284. Giving you almost
as many pins as an arduino mega.

stretch goals
Here the roadmap of this creation:
Breadboard
At first I have programed the atmega328 using arduino as isp tutorial on arduino
playground using the breadboard.

Arduino as ISP breadboard
Protoshield
After few successful attempts i got sick of ask the hassle of re wiring everything every time.
And thus made an atmega328 burner shield using proto shield.
Arduino As ISP
First Prototype PCB
Then i found out that you can program attiny chips using the same technique. But all the isp
shields out there were made to program atmega 328 chips or attiny chips. So i decided to
make one that can program both.

Arduino As ISP
Second Prototype version
Later i got my hands on attiny as isp programmer and decided to update the shield to
support isp header to program the chips using external isp programmer. I have also added
extra support for attiny4323 chips and feature to enable or disable auto reset feature.
Arduino As ISP
Final
After some time i realized that it works only with my uno board and not with my leonardo or
made boards. So now i have added support for other arduino boards also added support
for attiny and atmega chip. And now it's ready for mass production.

Arduino As ISP
Fulfilment
All the boards are Designed in Manchester UK and Manufactured in Shenzhen China.
Chips are Made Atmel.
The PCB layout is almost ready for manufacturing. When project funding time runs out, and
the backers have responded surveys (about what kind of name to put on the PCB), I can
place the order. It will take about a week for manufacturing and shipping. Plus a week or
two to make kits to send out for you. So around 40 days after the project finished you will
be receiving you own amazing ISP shield.
Design - designs will be published in Gerber format for everyone on the day that the
project has ended. On May 19th.
Need to wait 2 weeks until the money comes to my account from Kickstarter. 6th June.
It takes 7 working days to manufacture and ship boards from China to UK, its a bog
manufacturing plant and they can handle massive amounts, so no problems there. Order
will be placed on 1 June. Boards will be made by 6 June, (i'll make the payment), board
will be with me on (3 days shipping) will have in my possession on 9th June.
My PCB manufacturer also provide all of the components including atmel chips.
It will take another 4 days for me to bag and tag and put into the envelopes and lick all
them post stamps.. Will ship on 13th June. If you in UK you will get them on the 14th of june.
Europe 20th, Worldwide 22nd.

Risks and challenges
I have already created some other successful projects and the drawings and the sample
has been made. The only potential problems can arise if the projects get crazy popular
and will grow to a massive amount of backers. In that case I'll need to get my Wife and
Kids working making the the kits till late hours :) The manufacturer can handle massive
orders and all in all every 1000 backers would add one week on top of the existing
schedule.
I have finished shipping boards for my last project (Crystal IO) and the main library is
working great. There are some bits of software than need to be improved and added. It will
not interfere with this project as the ISP shield is finished designing and software is done,
there are no changes that need to be done.
