Microbial fuel cell

A microbial fuel cell is a device that converts chemical energy to electrical energy by the
catalytic reaction of microorganisms.it was made up of anode and cathode compartments
separated by a positively charged membrane. In the anode compartment, fuel is oxidized by
microorganisms, generating CO
2
, electrons and protons. Electrons are transferred to the cathode
compartment through an external electric circuit, while protons are transferred to the cathode
compartment through the membrane. Electrons and protons are consumed in the cathode
compartment, combining with oxygen to form water. Main purpose is to generate electricity by
imitating processes of microorganisms.
2.Wirelessly controlled vehicle with a robotic arm
The vehicle mainly had an antenna,a camera,two motors and a microchip.it was controlled by
sending signals. The remote had some basic functions like forward backward,right left,close arm
and open arm.it worked mainly because of the programmable microchips and the waves used to
tranmit the signal.main purpose is to lift heavy paper rolls in the paper industry to replace
manual labour.
3.Safety car using electromagnetics
Perhaps very complicated,yet it is very useful technology which can be used to prevent accidents
at obtuse corners on the hills and the high to very high speed corners.the basic is the car sends
signals to detect the distance to go for the corners ,generate data about maximum safe speed and
the current speed of car.if the car is at a greater pace it stops by braking heavily using
electromagnetic brakes.
4. generating electricity from gases
some gases are evolved after treatment of organic wastes.The gases which are not required are
settled down using the filters.The useful gases are passed through a mechanism .this mechanism
uses this gas to produce electricity.Main purpose is to setup this type of mechanism in large
number so that each plant produces enough electricity to feed the needs of its nearby areas.
5.Lighting bulbs from wastes
The organic wastes are decomposed.When they are decoposed,they produce the gases which are
passed through a mechanism. This mechanism processed the gases to generate electricity which
is further used to light the bulbs.Only lighting the bulb as its purpose sounds absurd.Perhaps the
mechanism need much more improvement to generate far more electricity so thet it can be used
in other activities rather than just lighting bulb.


6.Sewage Treatment plant
The whole set up is present underground.The sewage from the houses in a locality are collected
and are treated .on treatment they produce gases.however,only methane isfiltered out and is used
for domestic purpose.as methane has a high calorific value ,it is used as cooking fuel in
households.
