To the Ayotzinapa Normal School demonstrators, relatives, and all
those affected by the recent repression in Guerrero:
With great sorrow and dismay, we write this letter on the eve of the 46
th

Anniversary of the Tlatelolco Massacre, to show support for the student and
community demonstrators seeking to bring education reform to the state of
Guerrero, Mxico.
At this present time, the heart of Mexico is still nursing the jagged edged cut
inflicted by the atrocities committed under former President Luis Echerra on
October 2
nd
, 1968. Justice has yet to be served for the murders, disappearances, and
unlawful arrests of hundreds of brave souls who shared a unified vision of progress
leading up to the 1968 Summer Olympics. The wound of injustice has only deepened
in light of recent events in Iguala, which have resulted in the taking of six lives and
the continued disappearance of 43 of the 57 people reported missing.
We will not let the continuation of historical amnesia cloud the trajectory and vision
of our existence as students, but more importantly, as human beings. Our minds,
bodies, and souls have value and cannot and will not be disposed of by government
agencies that seek to use force to suppress political opposition and movements of
self-determination.
We are students from the United States Student Association (USSA), the countrys
oldest and largest student-led organization in our county. USSA amplifies the
student voice by mobilizing grassroots power to win concrete victories on student
issues. We stand in solidarity with the students and community members of
Ayotzinapa Normal School and Iguala, who are coping with the aftermath of the
violent rampage enacted by the municipal police in Guerrero.
We, the United States Student Association, support the demands for municipal
accountability towards acts of violence, justice for the martyrs of the movement, and
continued support to find and return the 43 missing students to their loved ones.

Somos uno. We are one. While our movements reflect the particular needs of
students in our respective communities, our journeys toward liberation have many
areas of commonality that transcend geopolitical borders who seek to prevent and
deter our unification as a people. For USSA is fully aware that our well being and
spiritual wholeness is directly link to the well being of our comrades in other
nations.
Together, we will dismantle the systems that broke our hearts and work towards
healing the wounds that commemorate the martyrs of the student movement.

Para los estudiantes de la Escuela Normal Rural de Ayotzinapa, manifestantes,
familiares y todos los afectados por la reciente represin en Guerrero:

Con gran tristeza y consternacin, escribimos esta carta la noche del 46 Aniversario
de la Masacre de Tlatelolco, para mostrar nuestro apoyo a los estudiantes de la
Escuela Normal Rural de Ayotzinapa y comunitarios de Iguala que estan luchando
para llevar a cabo una reforma educativa en el estado de Guerrero, Mxico.

Hoy en dia el corazon de Mexico todavia se esta sanando de las heridas infectadas
por las atrocidades cometidas bajo el liderazgo del ex presidente Luis Echeverra el
2 de octubre de 1968. La justicia an no ha servido a los asesinos, los desaparecidos
no se han encontrado y hay arrestos injustos de cientos de almas valientes que
compartieron una visin unificada de progreso y sin descanso que llevaron a las
olimpiadas del verano del 1968. La herida de la injusticia solo se ha infectado ms a
causa de los recientes sucesos en Iguala, los cual han resultado en el fallecimiento
de 6 y la desaparicin de 43 y 57 reportes de desaparecidos.


No permitiremos la continuacin de la nube de amnesia histrica, la trayectoria y la
visin de nuestra existencia como estudiantes, pero ms importante, como seres
humanos. Nuestras mentes, nuestros cuerpos, y nuestras almas tienen valor y no
pueden y no estn dispuestos a aceptar que las agencias gubernamentales busquen
forzar y suprimir oposicin poltica y movimientos de determinacin propia.

Somos estudiantes de la Asociacin Estudiantil de los Estados Unidos (USSA), la
organizacin ms grande del pas dirigida por estudiantes. USSA amplifica la voz
estudiantil por medio del poder movilizador de sus bases para ganar victorias en los
asuntos que afectan ms a los estudiantes.

Nosotros, la Asociacin Estudiantil de los Estados Unidos, apoyamos las demandas
de rendicin de cuentas municipales hacia los actos de violencia, justicia de los
mrtires del movimiento, y el apoyo constante del estado para encontrar y regresar
a los 43 estudiantes desaparecidos con sus seres queridos.

Estamos unidos. Enlazados. Somos uno. Mientras nuestro movimiento refleje las
necesidades particulares de estudiantes en nuestras respectivas comunidades,
nuestros viajes hacia la liberacin tiene mucho en comn las cuales trascienden las
fronteras geopolticas que buscan prevenir y deteriorar nuestra unificacin como
gente. USSA conoce que nuestro bienestar y nuestro espritu entero est
directamente conectado con el bienestar de nuestros compaeros en otras naciones.

Juntos, desmantelamos los sistemas que han roto nuestros corazones y
trabajaremos para sanar las heridas que conmemoran los mrtires del movimiento
estudiantil.
