COURSE NAME: NURSING CARE MANAGEMENT 104 (NCM 104) CARE OF CLIENTS ACROSS THE LIFESPAN WITH PROBLEMS IN PERCEPTION AND COORDINATION
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course deals with the concepts, principles and theories of human behavior and the care of individuals, population group experiencing alterations in perception and coordination and psychosocial adjustment and those with maladaptive behaviors in varied settings.
COURSE CREDIT: 8 UNITS LECTURE, 6 UNITS RELATED LEARNING EXPERIENCE (RLE)
TERMINAL COMPETENCY: Given an actual client, population group, with problems in perception and coordination, adjustment and maladaptive behaviors, the students should be able to:
1. Utilize the nursing process in the care of individuals, families in selected settings: 1.1. Assess with client/s his/her/ their condition/health status through interview, physical examination, interpretation of laboratory findings 1.2. Identify actual and at-risk nursing diagnosis 1.3. Plan appropriate nursing interventions with client/s and family with problems in perception and coordination. 1.4. Implement plan of care with client/s and family 1.5. Evaluate the progress of his/her/their client's conditions and outcomes of care 2. Apply nursing theories in the management of care of clients with problems in perception and coordination. 3. Live the core values cherished by the nursing profession: A. Love of God 4. Ensure a well organized and accurate documentation system (Oral and Written) ```` 5. Relate with clients/s and their family and the health team appropriately and collaborate with the health care team members. 6. Observe bioethical concepts/principles, and the 11 key areas of responsibilities in the care of clients with problems in perception and coordination; and 7. Assume responsibilities for personal and professional growth. 8. Demonstrate leadership and management skills in the care of clients with problems in perception and coordination. 9. Utilize research findings to improve health care delivery system.
