Making Waves is a not-for-profit group of volunteer swimming instructors based

out of universities across Eastern Canada. This is the first time that our program will
be offered in Halifax.

We offer inexpensive swimming lessons to children with intellectual challenges who

are unable to participate in group swimming lessons and allowing very affordable ac-
cess to private swimming instruction.

At Making Waves, we believe that becoming comfortable in the water and learning to
swim is essential for all children. It is our mission to ensure that swimming lessons are
accessible and affordable to those who need them most.

Your child will be paired one-on-one with one of our instructors, who will help them
attain their personal goals, whether it be putting their faces in the water for the first
time or developing their swim strokes. We recognize that everyone learns at their
own pace, and that with a little help anything is possible.

A nine-week session of lessons will run Sunday mornings from 10:30 – 11:00
AM from January 16th to March 13th at a price of $20/child at Centennial pool
(1970 Gottingen Street, Halifax NS). Fees cover administrative costs and
pool rental fees. Registration is limited.

Information on Making Waves Montreal, the program on which we are modeled, is

available at www.makingwavesmontreal.com.

To register, contact Kyle Jewer (coordinator) at

making.waves.halifax@gmail.com. Further inquiries on the program can be addressed
here as well and will be responded to promptly.
