The English Proficiency Test (EPT) evaluates a tutor applicant's English language competency through sections on conversation, vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension. Passing the EPT is required to advance to the Tutoring Skills Assessment (TSA), a one-hour online assessment that evaluates an applicant's ability to teach. If an applicant fails the EPT, they may retake it and scores and number of attempts factor into prioritization. The TSA involves a test call, a 30-minute demo lesson conducted via Skype using provided materials, and is used to gauge teaching ability.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DID NOT FINISH A CATEGORY ON-TIME? If you fail to finish a category on-time, whatever score you have accumulated within the given time will be considered. WHAT IF I NOTICE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE EPT? For corrections to the questionnaire, please email tutor.application@rarejob.com.ph If you encounter an error with the system itself, please email tutorweb.support@rarejob.com.ph When sending emails to their respective departments, please include a detailed explanation regarding what's wrong and a screenshot to support it. TUTORING SKILLS ASSESSMENT (TSA)
WHAT IS THE TUTORING SKILLS ASSESSMENT (TSA)? The TSA is a 1-hour assessment session aimed to gauge the tutor applicant's ability to teach. HOW DO I PROCEED WITH THE TSA? You can only proceed with the TSA after you have passed the English Proficiency Test. First, you must Submit your preferred TSA schedule. The application team will then contact you regarding the availability of the schedule you submitted. After passing the test, you will receive a call from the Quality Assurance 4 team confirming your schedule for the TSA. Once you are successfully booked for a TSA session, you will receive an email containing the date and time of your TSA schedule together with the necessary preparations you need to make to pass. WHAT PREPARATIONS DO I NEED TO DO? Please be online at least thirty (30) minutes before your TSA schedule and send a Skype message to the Training Administrator to confirm your attendance (Skype ID: rarejob.training.admin). Kindly wait for the Training Administrators Skype call to check your sound quality. Make sure you have the following ready and working Stable Internet Connection Skype installed on your computer A headset with a microphone A webcam (optional, but preferred) Review the assessment material I wish to use another Skype ID for the TSA. What should I do? Make sure that you edit your Skype ID details in the Edit Account Information tab in the RareJob Tutor Site. Inform you the Training Administrator (training.admin) and your trainer that you have edited your Skype ID in the Tutor Site. You can do this via Skype or email (tutor.training@rarejob.com.ph) Make sure to add the Training Administrator in your Skype contacts ahead of time to avoid delays or problems. I did not receive any e-mail regarding the details of my TSA. What should I do? It might happen that the email was re-directed to the spam folder. Make sure to check your spam folder at least day before your scheduled assessment so you will have enough time to prepare for the assessment. If you cannot find the email even in your spam folder, send an email to tutor.training@rarejob.com.ph informing the team about your email concern. I cant seem to access the material as an error message keeps displaying. How can I fix this? You might observe that the TSA material takes a long time to load. This is because your Internet connection might not be too stable. Conduct a speed test before your scheduled assessment and make sure that the result is higher than the required speed (at least 1mbps for download speed). What happens if I failed the Tutoring Skills Assessment? The Tutoring Skills Assessment is a way for the company to gauge whether an applicant is capable of teaching efficiently. If you failed the assessment, you will be given six (6) months to improve on the areas noted by your trainer. By then, you can re-apply as a tutor.
