About the College

Vivekananda College of Technology and Management (VCTM) is established under the aegis of N.L. Educational society in
2008. N. L. Group of Institutions comprises of: (i) Vivekananda College of Education (VCOE), established in 2003 2004 is
affiliated to B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra (U. P.), India and approved by NCET, Jaipur (ii) Vivekananda College of Law
(VCOL) in 2004 2005, affiliated to B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra (U. P.), India and approved by the Bar Council of India
and (iii) Vivekananda College of Technology & Management (VCTM), approved by AICTE and affiliated to Mahamaya
Technical University (MTU), Noida [formerly known as UPTU].
The campus of VCTM is located at stone throw distance from the crossing of Khair road and Mathura bye pass. It is nearly 3 Km
from the main city of Aligarh, about 5 Km from AMU campus and not more than 100 Km from NCR zone. Situated in a lush
green belt the campus has environment absolutely free from pollution and traffic hazards. The building of the college has a
beautiful architecture with artistic landscape and lush green lawns. The College contains all necessary infrastructure required for
any good academic institution of higher studies, including spacious classrooms and tutorial rooms, well furnished seminar and
conference halls, spacious library with good collection of books, well equipped laboratories and workshop, common rooms for
girls and boys, a separate hall for indoor games and an attractive cafeteria. Audio-visual aids and advanced multi-media training
gadgets the key players amongst modern teaching methods have been fixed in class rooms. Personality Development Programs
and Co-curricular activities like Educational Club, Cultural Society and Students Council are functional in the college.

Our Inspiration
Shri N.L. Saraswat has been the pivotal point of inspiration for all of
us. An honest, upright man of letters Shri Saraswat was a highly educated landlord and a social worker to the core of the heart.
Being a visionary with missionary zeal he strived to impart knowledge to the underprivileged and to establish an educational
institution for higher learning to cater to the needs of weaker sections of the society. He, however, did not live longer to see his
dreams transformed into reality. His worthy son Advocate Anil Saraswat, through his consistent efforts fulfilled his dreams and
confirmed the saying the spirit never dies with the body. He established Vivekananda College of Education (VCE) in 2003,
Vivekananda College of Law (VCL) in 2004 and Vivekananda College of Technology & Management (VCTM) in 2008. This has
been possible only due to living, inspiring and immortal spirit of Late Shri Saraswat Ji. VCE, VCL and VCTM in various
disciplines are dedicated to the fond memory of this great soul.

richest. Its contribution towards the world heritage has been greatly acclaimed in modern times too. India is one of the biggest
contributors towards the best and largest highly skilled manpower. Its strength lies in its material resources and its capacity to
produce highly knowledgeable technocrats and its spiraling progress in all fields particularly in Information Technology. Now it is
no more a secret that we are heading towards becoming one of the economic superpowers. VCTM aims at the overall
development of the personality of an individual. Quality technical education is the need of the hour to prepare an individual to

proficiency to face the global challenges in addition to develop value sets and attitudes for a value based, fulfilling and a whole
some life. The stress will be on enhancing the Intellectual Capital of the teacher and the taught. I feel that this is the key to
transform VCTM into a leading institution of U.P. I am confident that VCTM will definitely achieve this goal in near future and

Auditorium
For functions, big meetings and cultural activities a state-of-the-art audio-visual auditorium has been set up at the college. The
auditorium is sound proof, has surround-sound speakers and a multimedia projector. The teachers are encouraged to incorporate
the audio-visual medium while teaching important and difficult subjects.


Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology
The departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology have well qualified and experienced faculty
that ably guides, motivates and trains students so that they can perform to their fullest ability and attain leadership position.
The department is committed to provide the high quality professional education to the students for developing human resource
with specialized knowledge and skills and for continuously improving effectiveness of the quality management system.

The department offers excellent and well equipped air-conditioned
computer Centre with more than 500 latest version of computers with LCD monitors. Each student is provided Intel Pentium
4/Dual Core HCL brand independent system. Our computer labs are based on LAN technology which is connected to the Cat-5
cable and switches. These are controlled through the HCL-NET Manager Server. The computer lab has a state-of-art application
software environment encompassing window and compiler like C, C++ etc. The student will gain knowledge as well as hands-on-
experience in different software environment.
The department has separate Internet facility with dedicated 4 Mbps radio link connection which provides a vast pool of
knowledge and access to the latest literature The Internet facility is available round the clock which enables our students and
faculty members to keep in touch with the latest trends in academia and the corporate world The department is continuously
getting and upgrading the facilities as well as infrastructure.

Electronics and Communication and Electrical Engineering
Ever increasing pace of the development in electronics, audio and video communication systems and the automation in industry
have made an electronics engineer a catalyst for the change of the modern society. The department has the team of well qualified
and experienced faculties. With the fast changing tempo of events throughout the world, it has become essential to have efficient
communication network with the latest electronic devices and circuits. Besides giving a thorough grounding in basic science and
engineering subjects, the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering lays greater emphasis on deep understanding
of fundamental principles and state-of-the-art knowledge of : Electronic Devices & Circuits, Computer Architecture,
Microprocessors, VLSI & Embedded Systems, Analog & Digital Communication, Analog & Digital Signal Processing and
Microwave & Broadband Communications etc.


The department has laboratories, fully equipped with latest state-of-the-art equipments, apparatus and softwares etc. required for
the B. Tech. ECE (Electronics and Communication Engg.) and EE (Electrical Engg.) courses.

Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering is the science of exploring the natural resources of power and propulsion and materials of engineering
construction through the design, development, production, installation and operation of power plants, transport equipments and
industrial plants. The department of Mechanical Engineering is making every sincere efforts to produce excellent graduates to
meet the challenges of national and global problems such as: energy shortage, innovative design methods, manufacture and
operation of prime movers, pumps, compressors, machine tools, production techniques etc.


The department has huge Central Workshop containing Machine Shop, Smithy Shop, Foundry Shop, Welding Shop, Carpentry
Shop, Fitting Shop and Sheet Metal Shop etc. A separate Drawing Hall contains Auto CAD/CAM facility where the Engineering
Graphics classes are held and the students can gather practical experience and fine-tune their engineering drawing skills. Other
labs are equipped with the latest equipments and instruments for experiments on different subjects.

Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering, the backbone of the development of a country is the
oldest branch of engineering growing right from the stone age of civilization. With the advancement , modern architecture is
needed for the construction of high rise buildings (100-150 stories), advanced Dams construction for of power generation and
construction of Bridges, Metros, Railways, Airports and Sea ports for Transportation etc. The department of civil engineering has
experienced and well qualified faculty having specialisation in Construction, Environmental, Geotechnical, Structural,
Transportation and Water Resources Engineering. civil2The Department has modern labs equipped with latest equipments like:
Tilting Level, Dumpy Level & Electronic Theodolite, Universal Testing Machine (UTM), Three Hinged Arch, Ductility Testing
Machine, Direct Shear Testing Machine and Compressive Testing Machine etc. catering to the need of different Labs. Survey
Camps and Industrial Visits are also regularly arranged by the Department.



Management
The Department offers two years full time PG Degree Course (MBA)
divided into 4 semesters with a Summer Training Assignment in a Business Organization, in five specialisations: Marketing,
Finance, Human Resource Development, Information Technology and International Business. The department intends cultivating
and nurturing the minds for the passing out students to be entrepreneurs and to adapt to the change and keep pace with the fast
changing business scenario. Grooming the next generation of potential leaders is our top priority. To maintain the standard and
reputation in the corporate world corporate gurus and leaders are invited for taking lectures and workshops. We follow the concept
of teaching beyond the syllabus which includes the need of the
industry. Training under Personality Development Program (PDP) is
arranged regularly throughout the year. Department develops and maintains a close relationship with corporate houses through
guest lectures, corporate get-togethers, industrial visits and frequent interaction at both institute and student level. It arranges for
the mandatory Summer Internship Programme in corporate houses for each student at the end of the first year.

Training and Placement Cell
Offering information, advice, guidance and support for job-seeking
students is considered a primary responsibility at the College. Training and placement cell is equipped to create a pool of skilled
manpower guiding the students to reach their goals with perfection. Since the year of its inception VCTMs training & placement
department is headed by an active and competent faculty. The Head, Training and Placement Cell is supported by well qualified
permanent training staff.
Career Guidance and Personality Developments Seminars, Workshops & Guest Lectures are organized regularly to improve the
performance of students in job market. A team of dedicated faculty members works continuously to groom the students for Career
Counselling, Business Etiquettes, Group Discussions and Interview Skills, Motivation, Resume Writing, Communication Skills,
Negotiation Skills and Mock Interviews etc.
The Cell is also responsible for organizing final placement for the graduating students a continuous process that effectively
starts the day a student joins the college. This department has successfully placed the students in reputed national and
multinational companies.

In todays agonistic world, a retroactive learning style and bondless
capability for innovation forms the cornerstone for obtaining desired placement in flourished organizations. We, at Vivekananda
College of Technology & Management (i.e. VCTM, Aligarh) offers quality & innovative courses from the emerging verticals of
economy which are market driven to help the students harness true potential. Besides academics, we also believe in the holistic
development of our students. Our teaching methodology includes presentations, case studies, live projects, educational and
Industrial tours and engagement in seminars and conferences etc. One of the strongest points of the learning experience at VCTM
is convergent study and industrial interaction. This supported us to infuse in the students a mindset that groomed them for the
challenging corporate world.
I am feeling overwhelmed of what we had accomplished in the field of campus recruitment at VCTM. And look with optimism &
