Should you be elected, what are three specific areas youd like to change, address, improve or further research,
and how specifically would you go about it?:
____________________________________________________________________________________
Weve made great strides in our economic recovery the past four years, but there is still
____________________________________________________________________________________
plenty of work to do to streamline government, taxes and regulations so we can continue
____________________________________________________________________________________
our growth. In Columbus, Ill fight to ensure that our small business owners, farmers, and
entrepreneurs can create jobs and earn a living without government interference or
____________________________________________________________________________________
confiscatory taxation.
____________________________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________________________________
If we want to attract high-paying jobs, we must ensure our youth are properly educated
___________________________________________________________________________________
and prepared to compete in the job market. Doing so requires increasing our focus on
___________________________________________________________________________________
science, math, and technology education; ensuring access to quality vocational programs;
___________________________________________________________________________________
and supporting our universities, community colleges and other institutes of higher
____________________________________________________________________________________
education.
We must hold our educators and students to the highest standards, without
____________________________________________________________________________________
compromising the quality of education. We must also ensure that our children are the
____________________________________________________________________________________
ultimate
focus, and empower parents to take an active role in their education.
____________________________________________________________________________________
____________________________________________________________________________________
Finally, we must do everything we can to strengthen our families and communities.
____________________________________________________________________________________
Addiction, especially opiate addiction, is having a devastating impact across the state,
____________________________________________________________________________________
including right here in northeast Ohio. Ill work with legislators, law enforcement, and
____________________________________________________________________________________
community nonprofits to combat this epidemic through education, treatment and, when
____________________________________________________________________________________
necessary, prosecution.
____________________________________________________________________________________
____________________________________________________________________________________
Whether for past accomplishments or future goals, why should voters elect you?
____________________________________________________________________________________
My combination of private sector, nonprofit, and political experience make me uniquely
____________________________________________________________________________________
qualified to serve in the Ohio House. As manager at a small, woman-owned political
____________________________________________________________________________________
communications firm, I developed an appreciation for the challenges facing small
businesses meeting payroll, attracting and retaining qualified staff, and staying within
____________________________________________________________________________________
budget. Given the nature of our work, I cultivated a much deeper understanding of the
____________________________________________________________________________________
legislative and regulatory process, as well as the implications that politics can have on
____________________________________________________________________________________
that process. Working in the nonprofit sector, I experience the unfortunate reality of
____________________________________________________________________________________
determining which programs are worthy of funding on a limited budget. With so many
____________________________________________________________________________________
programs providing so much good in the community, it is often difficult to make prudent
____________________________________________________________________________________
fiscal decisions. I appreciate the real-world implications and am equipped to make the
____________________________________________________________________________________
tough choices necessary to stay within budget. Finally, I am motivated above all to be an
____________________________________________________________________________________
effective representative of my district. My door is always open to any constituent,
____________________________________________________________________________________
regardless of party, and anyone that wants to make northeast Ohio the best place to live
____________________________________________________________________________________
and raise a family. I will work tirelessly each and every day on behalf of all the residents
____________________________________________________________________________________
of Geauga and Portage Counties to ensure government works for them, not against them.
