1. DVD Content
The DVD contains the following files and folders%
&icense te't file. This is the (nd )ser &icense #greement* describing how you
may and may not use the ReFill. +lease read this document carefully,
Reason Drum -its ReFills. There are two ReFills on the DVD . they are the
same e'cept that one has /0 bit samples and the other has 12 bit samples.
$ore about this later in this document,
RD- Documentation folder. Contains the )ser $anual for the Reason Drum
-its ReFill* the 3tudio &og and -ey $ap showing how the various drum
sounds are mapped across the 4eyboard 5all in #crobat pdf format6.
Furthermore it contains the document What7s new in RD- /.8.pdf and a folder
with #crobat Reader applications for $ac "3 and Windows. &astly* this folder
contains a bac4drop specially made for Reason Drum -its for you to use with
your twea4ed and built 4its.

"ther +ropellerhead +roducts. This folder contains info on additional
+ropellerhead 3oftware products and a demo version of ReCycle /.1
RD- +rofessional $i'es. Reason songs in rps format showing off the
potential of Reason Drum -its. These files are also included in the ReFill.
RD- ReWire Demo +ro9ect. Contains a demo song for a number of ReWire
hosts with the drums coming from Reason:RD- to be ReWired into the host.
3ee the included Read$e file for more information.

2. Why Two ReFills?
The two ReFills are e'actly the same and are totally e'changeable. "ne contains
12 bit samples and the other /0 bit samples. That is the ";&< difference. The
names of the samples are the same* so a song created with the 12 bit version
will open fine with the /0 bit version installed or vice versa.
The purpose for a 12 bit version is that the patches become lighter and faster to
load and the C+) doesn7t have to wor4 as hard. The ReFill itself also ta4es up
less space on the hard drive. The /0 bit version re=uires more R#$ and a faster
C+) than the 12 bit version to run smoothly.
"ur recommendation would be to wor4 with the 12 bit version when producing
and use the /0 bit version for mi'down.
Note: #s the ReFills are designed to be e'changeable* all data e'cept the
sample bit rates is identical* and therefore they cannot co.e'ist in any location
where Reason scans for ReFills* such as the Reason program folder* the
Des4top* or any additional folders you have added to the &ocations pane in the
Reason browser. !f you plan on alternating between the two* the version not in
use must always be 4ept outside of Reason7s 9urisdiction,
3. How to Install the Reason Dr! "its ReFill
To start using the Reason Drum -its ReFill with Reason is easy. >ust
follow these simple steps%
1. Copy one of the Reason Drum -its.rfl files 512 or /0 bit* depending on your
preferences6 from the DVD to the Reason application folder on your hard drive.
/. 3tart Reason. The new ReFill is now available. Chec4 out the +rofessional
$i'es and +roducer -its for inspiration.
Note: For e'isting users of Reason Drum -its* this ReFill replaces RD- 1.8. <ou
can safely delete your old refill. RD- /.8 is completely compatible with earlier
versions.
#. Co!$atibility an% &ther &tstan%in' Isses
We have gone far to create the most realistic sounding set of drums ever made
for Reason. This means that the full patches in this ReFill are large. $ulti "ut
patches weigh around /?8$@ 512 bit format6 and to load them into ;;.AT in
Reason B.8 ta4es more time than loading sounds from the Reason Factory
3ound @an4.
Therefore* we recommend a faster C+) and more memory for this product. !f
you have less memory than recommended* or if you 9ust want the patches to load
faster* please use the 3tereo $i' patches 5$A6. These are stereo
representations of the samples and wor4 perfectly well in a programming
situation. <ou can always step up to the $ulti "ut patches later on in the process*
since all 3tereo $i' patches have a $ulti "ut e=uivalent.
(. )bot the *anal
We strongly recommend that you read the $anual. !n addition to invaluable info
on how to use the ReFill* it7s also full of facts on how we recorded the sounds*
which drums are involved and more.
We ho$e yo en+oy yor new set of %r! ,its-
