Hj Flushing , NY, SCG : . e e 6/13/92 v6 Pie To all conncerned Parties; ~ I hope you al receive this letter in good health and in good spirits: ‘ Mainly becaus: has showed some interest in me and in this project, 1 Secide ake it one step further. featuring Earth Wind & Fire in The Elements Of The World. . The Theme: First of all let's develope the basic symbolic meanings of the four elements. . Earth: We are talking about the dwelling place of mankind. And the basic story line is that because woman was deceived by the serpent and her man vas misiead by her, the ground (Earth) was cursed. So to correct this a man had to come and redirect his woman, and his woman had to overcome the serpent, and put her faith once again in GOD. "come back to m Wind (Air): ‘We are talking about communications. The Word of GoD was carried by messengers and transmitted through the Air, the Wind blows wherever it pleases. So through the Air the Word was delivered. Fire: Now we are talking about a purification process taking place. Everyone will be salted with Fire. When we think in terms of mankind, we are talking about the act of repentance, which can be pure hell. With the knowledge of good and evil, ahd the true desire to do what is good, and-do away with evil, we can overcome, but our flesh will make it a challenge. Water: “This is the symbol of the Savior, which in reality is The Power of The Holy Spirit working. through a man. The only thing that separates mankind from receiving The Holy Spirit, is man's lack of love. “Now understand a true man is both He and Her. It was becaus of the Savior's love for his wife, that he gained knowledge of himself that he could save, ‘love and protect his wife. Now in reality we are talking about the church. Summary: --The Elements of the World is a love story about a = + couple who ‘became spiritually one, but was separated physically for a nice amount of time, and was confused, but yet they held on and reunited, because of the power of love, they overcame. * The drama of this is the two comparisons, on the one hand you had a female vho was really born poor but lived rich as far back as she can remember. She became famous with celebrity statis, and’so the world of money “and lust, turned her away from GOD. You had the male her husband, who was born rich and lived poor as far back as he can remember in terms of reliving an experience. He was looked down upon, he was a drunk, who became homeless. And out of love for his wife he regained knowledge of self, but who would believe him ? But out of love, :he believed in himself. While the whole world seemed not to believe him, he wouldn't let go of his dream. So he told the truth and she heard it and knew in her heart, it was her husband, so’ she turned avay from her sinful ways and they reunited. Ideas in General: What im gonna do here is jump around and discuss different ideas, that I believe will create an effective project. #1) Rather then just have. one show, allow at least three ‘performances, to accommodate different time zones, east coast, west coast, and europe. aan oe JUN 18 1992 e e r #2) The live concert video will be made from all three performances. #3) Rather then just go on pay per view, also include sria11 music halis and sterio movie theaters to present the concert via satellite. The advantage to the consumer is they can see the show at a lower cost then to actually go to the live concert. The advantage from a business standpoint is, if we promote this correctly we can create a $100M gate easily over the weekend. The advantage from my standpoint, which the most important, is once these ahaxs pre completed | I will be able to spend some real quality time with and start a family. #4) I would like to add to the team of professionals, and I would like for him along Ww to create extended versions to all the songs to be released as singles, once again prior to the album release. An important aspect of the extended remix versions, is I want musician: sical engineering, not just turntable turning, and can do the job. #5) On the singles releases, I want two songs released together on the lst, 3rd, and 5th releases and one song on the 2nd, 4th, and 6th releases, and that should leave us three songs on reserve. I want to completely dominate the charts early on in the album release, and promote the show by saying things like; 3 married and there will not be a concert tour with this album, this may be the last chance to see her perform live on stage for awhile, so on, and so on. When ve approuch the last singles release, we can announce the release of the video of her live performances, or we can show it first on cable or network television. #6) Because we are gonna’ record at least seven video's prior to the album release, and we are gonna spend crazy money on the video's. I want to point out I want them to be very colorful with modern audio and video effects, with some acting-in at least two of them. “Now what we can consider, im not sure about this one, we can consider releasing, The Elements of the World, music video set along with the album, for about $15.00 being that Paramount Communications will be investing into the video's, they should consider the effect or impact this‘will have on the project. In the one hand people will jump on it, on the otherhand people will have seen and heard the whole package early on. : ‘The result of a music video set release could result in our inability to decide on the singles release. But it could pay off big if we put together good extended singles for radio broadcast, do a good job promoting the concert, and do a good job promoting the concert video. * Now what would be great is if we can effectively inforce some type of copy right law to prevent T.V. broadcast from airing any video that has not been released, this will work. We will develope an‘enormous interest in thé package early in it's release. We can have MTV, BET, VHI, and whoev aying, if you really want to understand the message pening Lo drew project. you have to see the video set, it's really deep, but unfortunitely because of copy right laws we can only play them as they are released as singles, which I can“understand, ‘considering they invested an estimated $30M on the video's alone. #7) As for the star stu s that they will be coming to pay tribute to the first lady of peace. e e page #3 yg ~The~audience vill be am important part of the7sfiéiy the fan's will see clips of them coming in and'so on; I want the star studded audience to be set up with tablés that are served (waited on) and I Want Soul Train Dancers all over the place, it's a celebration to remember, that may never be matched. And it's important that we clearly promote the idea that you don't have to gamble to visit Atlantic City, because Atlantic City offers all sorts of great great entertainment for the whole family. #8) Concerning the stage show, I want the best technical crew that money and influence can gather for a single event. It is very important, that we put together a stage that will allow us to create different types of effects. Also keep in mind the star studded audience and the Soul Train dancers will be very much a part of the show, therefor some of the effects should extend to them. For-example, smoke laid across the audience floor. Just keep in mind, this is to be a major event, and a really big show. #9) In order for this to work , the movie theaters that will carry the show, will have to set up sound systems that will allow them to carry a concert sound. So we are talking about major investment. dollars. may have to sell the idea that these theaters have to 100K af TE as a long term investment, for a new era of entertainment. Now we will need to establish contractors that will be certified by a entertainment committee, that will establish the Studio Standard, the the theaters must mect. Also let's consider how recordings are played back, I want a minimum of $20M a year for Three years upon the release of trey album release, vith a $5M bonus upon ie new album release in advertisement endorsements, from consumer electronic companies. This is my minimum standards and as for the commercials, we xpi all the work before the album release. #10) I suggest to that this album cover be more‘colorfui then and watch who you thank afor what, im Sorry but I do get jealous. But in general the cover concept wasn't bad, to include the words to each song-inside, is very . effective. I want to insure quality and control over the actual tapes to insure consumer protection: I want the tapes to offer hours of defective free playing time, if you know what I mean. Also you might consider on the back of the package, rather then just advertise the names of the sonas, advertise the Package inside. For example This is a Earth Wind And Fire Performance: Al Words. to Songs Inside: Fan Club Information Included: And $0 on. Remember the package sells the product, so use _ it to advertise. Don't just go on your name, humble yourself and try to reach out. : ; #11) We can consider releasing a limited edition special remix album, which will consist’ of the remixed singles released, which.will be:' a group of remixed extended versions. Perhaps our standard might bé the number one hit; ¢ album The Elements of The World. #12) T want all op Peas mail put into storage for at least five years, and the addresses of the senders put on a disk, with the date of the mail arrival and I want a system of retrieval. I want the system to automatically kick of an alarm when a name or address comes up on a-consistant basis. If there is 4 fan out there really interested in I want to know. What happened to.me, I don't ever want to go-unnoticed again. This will be a part of my security team's responsibilities. . . e e Page #4 #13) Concessions such as T-Shirts, Caps, Sweat Suits, Posters, and. so on. Alot of concessions sales will be effected in one hand, but boosted on the other. Because there will be no cqncert tour, to prevent an over stock we may have to limit our stock amoung the theaters and be willing to except any unsold undamaged products back. The adjustment I vant to make to more then balance this out is, to not use concessions to advertise the project, but to promote the idea behind the project, which is love. I_want ouf products sold as sports wear right beside and right beside Black Cultural type concessions, it's not BIT about glamour, it's about the message. Also I want to do busines: with the street venders. As TI said, it's about the message, so I want our items to be seen, remember that the Wind blows Wherever it pleases. . And I want to close this letter by saying that the actual detail concerning this project should remain. confidential for copy right purposes, and I respect that you all are professionals and will be able to work it out. Im gonna get straight to the point, I don't like what I saw last night at the 64¢h Annual Academy Awards, or what im seeing, that's going on and being that AM" Paramount Communications, you can take this personal. What I see Is an association that is connected to a industry, that is obligated to keeping this association employed, and as far as im concerned the association that all the movies are being written for, consist of to many white faces and not enough others, and that's gonna have to change, or the executive branch is gonna have to change, in the union and production leadership, as things are, it is unacceptable. If.in no other industry, the movie industry should be a reflection of the nation that it serves, and the direction it is traveling in, and our nation is no longer traveling in the direction of white race supremacy or European control, but in the direction of true freedon and justice for all. * 6 What im calling for is not a new line of low budget black expectation films, to exploit black people, but for the writers and Hollywood leadership, to take the moral responsibility, and offer not a bunch of distorted views, but to present a reflection Of hope to the American people, regardless of race. Everyday I leave out to the streets of New York City, I see people of all races, should any movie about city life be any different ? Hollywood must address the real world, the real problems, and the real solutions of today, it's not about the 60's it's about the 90's, so hide the truth ? No it's time to tell the truth.
