Westcountry walling stone

We are one of the largest quarrying rms

with 60 aggregate operations across
the UK. We have a wide customer base,
delivering everything from a one-off load to
local builders to high prole projects such as
the London 2012 Olympic Park and the M1
Junction 25-28 widening programme.
We are based in Leicestershire at Bardon
Hill, Coalville, where we have operated since
the 1850s. Bardon Hill Quarry is one of the
companys ve super quarries, the others
being in Somerset, another in Leicestershire
plus two in Scotland. These quarries each
produce over 1 million tonnes of crushed
rock each year.
In addition to utilising road transport, we
also have facilities to distribute materials by
rail, river and sea around the UK. This takes
hundreds of thousands of tonnes of
aggregate and crushed rock off our road
network, saving both carbon and cost.
A national business
Our parent company, Aggregate Industries,
is an international aggregate, construction
and building materials group and part of the
Holcim group of companies. The group has
leading regional market positions in the UK,
and worldwide.
We have been working for more than a
decade to create sustainable solutions
for all our core markets and today all
our products are certied as VERY GOOD
under the BES 6001 Framework Standard
for the Responsible Sourcing of
Construction Products.
This means that using these products within
your project can help maximise potential
points and ratings within BREEAM and
other sustainable schemes.
We supply an extensive range of high quality aggregates to the UK construction industry.

An introduction

Case study
Hooe Lake,
Plymouth

distinctive rock outcrop and gained swift
approval from local planning.
Bardon Aggregates has supplied the
appointed groundworkers for the scheme,
MJL Contractors, with over 3,000 tonnes of
material since the commencement of the
project in August 2012.
