G Read and Understand:
* Read the following text carefully then do the exercises below.
Geometry is the study in Mathematics of angles as well as
shapes formed by the relationships of lines. The point is the original
part of any line like a vertical line, a diagonal line, a straight line, or
a curved line.
There are different kinds of shapes such as a rectangle, a
square, a circle and a triangle. The rectangle has four sides equal
two by two, whereas the circle is made up of one curved line which is everywhere equally
distant from one fixed point, which is the centre. In contrast to the square, which has four
equal sides, the triangle has three sides, then the same number of angles.
Since the shape of the rectangle, the square, the circle and the triangle, is unlike; the area
of each shape is calculated differently. For the rectangle, the length is multiplied by the width
(L x W) whereas for the triangle, the base is multiplied by the height and then divided by
two

BxH
.
In contrast for the square the side is multiplied by the side (S x S)
.

Concerning the formula of a circle area, , which is equal to three point fourteen, is
multiplied by .the radius (R), which is the distance from the centre of the circle to its
circumference in the power of two ( x R

).

a) A line consists of a number of points.
b) The circle is drawn with a pair of compasses.
c) Both the rectangle and the square have four equal sides.
d) The triangle has three angles.
e) The square and the circle don't have the same area.
