The ROSSILATOR system

incorporates many innovative features :

Totally enclosed 316L stainless steel

construction
AC brushless synchronous, reversing
stepping motor .
Screw type reversing actuator contained
in an oil filled chamber .
(no ball bearings)
Nema 4 control panel enclosure for
remote mounting .
Programmable controller ties oscillation
speed directly to machine speed
Actuator program controls stroke length
and speed .
Automatic water shut-off if machine or
oscillator malfunctions .
Fig. 1 shows the tracking
pattern of the ROSSILATOR
at any machine speed .
When the loop makes one
revolution, the shower nozzle
is advanced exactly one
cleaning width of the nozzle
stream resulting in complete
cleaning coverage over the
entire felt/fabric surface .

Fig . 2 shows a typical competitive cleaning pattern at

1200 FPM . The shower
nozzle requires four felt
revolutions to travel across
the felt width and back . The
fifth revolution begins the cycle again and the nozzle pattern is repeated, creating the
diamond pattern of uncleaned felt/fabric . This results in
uneven cleaning coverage
and "Streaking" .

Fig . 3 shows the same patt ern of incomplete coverage

at 3600 FPM .

Automatic retraction of shaft to

"HOME" position if oscillator stops .

Unlike competitive units, the

ROSSILATOR signal is obtained from an
encoder coupled directly to the paper
machine . This information is transmitted
through the remote control panel to one
or more ROSSILATORS providing perfect
synchronization of shower oscillation to
felt/fabric speed .
Figs . 1, 2 & 3 show a felt or fabric loop
laid flat . For clarity, only one complete
needle shower pattern is shown at a six
inch nozzle pitch .
