applicationcomesupfirst.

SelecttheappropriateprogramlanguageaswellastheusergroupDeveloper2.
ActivatetheDefinethedatapoolsettingsmanuallyalso.ClickontheOKbutton
afterwards,theLIFTpoolmanagerdialogappearsonthescreen.

TheLIFTpoolmanageristhemainLIFTdesignerdatabase/datapool
administrationtool.Thistooloffersthefollowingfunctionalities:

Asyoumayhavenoticed,thedatagridonthemainformdoesnotdisplayany
activedatapool.Thisisduetothefact,thatyouhavenotregistered/addeda
LIFTdesignerdatapoolyet.

Aslongasyoudontregisteranyexistingorcreateanewdatapool,the
LIFTdatamanagerapplicationwillnotwork.Youarefreetoregister/createas
manydatapoolsinanylocationyoulike.

2.2 LIFTdesigner5DataPools
OneofthemainnewLIFTdesigner5featuresistheseparationoftheprogramdata
fromthemainprogram.Inthiscontext,theprogramdataisseparatedinsocalled
DataPools.Thedatapoolslocationcanbedifferentfromthelocationofthe
LIFTdesigner5/LIFTdatamanagerinstallationdirectory.

ThedatapoolsprovidethedatathatisnecessarytorunthenewLIFTdesigner5/
LIFTdatamanagerapplications.Themainideaofthisconceptistobeabletorun
theLIFTdesigner5/LIFTdatamanagerprogramwithdifferent,registereddata
poolsthatmaycontaindifferentdata:

KeepintermediateMDB: Enablethischeckmarkifyouwanttokeepthe

AddAnnotatefiles: Thischeckmarkisenabledbydefault.Itenables

Ifyouwanttodeleteoneofthedatapools,clickontheDeleteModule...button.
Youmustverifythedeletionofthedatapool.

Deletingadatapoolisacriticalprocess.Onceyouhavedeletedadatapool,
thedeleteddatacannotberestoredanymore.
2.8 Settings...
ClickontheSettings...buttontoactivate/deactivatespecialoptionsforthe
selecteddatapool(doesntneedtobetheactivedatapool).
