Size of role: Primary focus on the New Zealand workforce of approximately 220 employees, provides service across ANZ
Critical relationships: HR Manager ANZ, HR Advisor ANZ, Payroll Assistant NZ, Executive Director HR,
Learning & Development Manager, Remuneration & Benefits and Systems & Reporting
Manager, General Manager NZ, Operations Managers, NZ Managers, Supervisors and Team
Leaders.
Overall job purpose: The HR Business Partner will be responsible for providing quality strategic and tactical support
by ensuring flawless execution of people strategies and practices which support the business
objectives and continually improves the value of HRs contribution to the business. They will
focus on understanding the direction of the New Zealand business and create and deliver
aligned people strategies through strong partnerships with key stakeholders.

Lead the HR function within New Zealand, driving both
strategic and operationally focused initiatives and service
which delivers against the business strategy and supports a
business partner model.

Coaching Managers to develop their people management
capabilities, and learning through experiences so they develop
their own capabilities for the future to address people related
matters.
Identifying and driving local HR initiatives and programs, which

Challenging decisions made in the business that you feel are
not optimal.
Identifying skill gaps in the business, and identify ways to
address gaps.
Raising awareness regarding early warning engagement
signals, and coach Managers in strategies that need to be
deployed.
Pro-actively work with Managers to accurately assess the
performance of their employees, and coach and guide early
performance interventions.
Driving various strategies to ensure we are recruiting and
retaining the best talent within the business.

Manage all HR transactional activities for New Zealand and be
accountable for delivering a business and client focused
service.

Updating and maintaining the company intranet, ensuring that
all information published and available for view is current.
Co-ordination or assistance in the annual remuneration
program
Ensure all transactional tasks associated with people

Ensure all contracts and employment packs are created and
executed in a timely and accurate manner.
Coordinate orientation and induction programs
Conduct all exit interviews for the local region
Maintain the data and information contained in the Human
Resources Information System (HRIS).
Develop and implement HR policies, systems and procedures,
ensuring consistency of practices, fair and equitable treatment
of employees, and compliance with legislation and awards.
Provide expert advice, coaching and support to Management,
and employees regarding interpretation, requirements and
implementation of HR policies and guidelines
Provision of other HR transactional tasks as assigned by the
HR Manager or as per current HR practices / processes.

JOB SPECIFICATION


Position title: Human Resources Business Partner
Education: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, qualifications in New Zealand employment legislation
and certification in training
Technical Skills: Proven HR generalist experience; specifically in creating and delivering people strategies and
organisational change, Sound knowledge of IR framework and relevant legislation and policies
impacting on employment conditions, Demonstrated business acumen, Knowledge/experience in
grievance management and investigation.
Industry experience: Corporate background
Management skills: Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills.
Personal qualities: Energy, drive, passion and a proactive approach, ability to instantly build rapport and effective
working relationships, practical problem solving skills and ability to cope with a wide range of job
demands and changing priorities, excellent facilitation skills, strong organisational skills and
demonstrated ability to work autonomously to ensure deadlines are met.
Technology skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint competence, experience using HRIS
Language skills: Excellent command of English
