Pathfinder

The movie, Pathfinder showed how the people managed to live

during the primitive times. As I watched the movie, it portrayed how
the education back then started. Before, they dont know that the
word education already exists. The movie tells that primitive times
established the rudiments of todays education.
In their times, Education does not talk of classrooms and books.
But they already have their teachers. There teachers where not
required to wear specific attire like what we have today. However, like
todays education, their teachers were the one who guides and taught
what will the actions of the tribe and its constituents.
In the movie, the Pathfinder is the teacher itself. He is
responsible of the tribes security and survival. Also, he is the one who
conforms who is part of his tribe and he manages to preserve and
transmit the tribes tradition.

47 Ronins
47 Ronins depicted how Japanese civilization started.in the movie,
it shows that there is a Shogun who leads the various group of
Samurai. He is responsible on implementing the rules and regulations of
the group.
Moreover, the story also showed on how does the Shogun
penalized a person. In order to regain the groups dignity of what their
master does, the master of the red samurai faced the hara-kiri. Harakiri is a traditional Japanese punishment wherein the one who commit
the mistake will kill his or herself or let the other samurai kill the
person.
Since the red kingdom doesnt have their ruler, the master of the
blue kingdom was proclaimed to marry the daughter of the later
master, so that they will have a person who will lead them.
The constituents of the red samurai dont think that their master
did the mischief. They believe that their masters mind was poisoned
that time. Still in the story , society discrimination was still observed
like Kai who is a half-breed was at first not accepted by the people in
there. But on the later part of the movie, he was accepted and was
part of the 47 Ronins.
Seeking for vengeance for their master, they attacked the blue
kingdom and successfully killed the master. With the action, they
faced the Hara-kiri except for the son of Oishi, the masters righthand to preserve his bloodline.

Jason and the Argonauts

As I watched the movie, I have a travel on the past. In the movie,
Jason has been prophesied to take the throne of Thessaly. The Golden
Fleece was Jasons goal and aim of the journey to save his mother. In
order for Jason to reach the Golden Fleece, he and the Argonauts had
to go through the ocean and get to the Kingdom of King Aeetes.
Throughout the tack for the Golden Fleece, Jason and the
Argonauts went through many tests. Some examples are the dangerous
clashing rocks in the ocean, the fire-breathing bulls, and the dragon
that guarded the Golden Fleece. Each text showed how courageous
Jason and the Argonauts were. There are a lot of evidences that there
are interactions of Gods and Goddesses.
For Jason, his best helper was Chiron and his sword. Chiron and
the sword gave Jason hope to carry on the journey in difficult
situations and supported him trust himself and believe that this
journey was possible to accomplish.

Knights Tale
The movie Knights Tale showed the culture and practice during
the Chivalric Period. As I watched the movie, it portrayed what is
education in there era.
The practice of jousting was highlighted. It was clearly depicted
that the sport jousting is only intended for royal blood. Commoners
were not allowed to join the battle .If someone is caught joining the
sport, punishments will be dealt accordingly.
The

Knights Tale adheres to traditional values of Chivalric

Knightly honor in which there are strict codes of behavior which one
must follow this code of chivalry is not necessarily polite and decent.
The culture and discipline during Chivalric Period was introduced
in the story.

Three Idiots
All is well. it is the saying that Rancho- the main
character always tell. Farhan Qureshi Raju Rastogi and Rancchoddas
"Rancho" Shyamaldas Chanchad are three engineering students who
share a room in a hostel at the Imperial College of Engineering, one of
the best colleges in India. While Farhan and Raju are average students
from modest backgrounds, Rancho is from a rich family. Farhan wants
to become a wildlife photographer, but has joined engineering college
to fulfil his father's wish. Raju on the other hand wants to uplift his
family fortunes. Rancho is a wealthy genius who studies for the sheer
joy of it. However, Rancho's passion is for knowledge and taking apart
and building machines rather than the conventional obsession of the
other students with exam ranks.
Rancho emphasized practical learning. He chose to discuss things
simply tah using words that are hard to understand. The main
character said, Make your passion your profession.

This movie

taught me a lot when it comes to life and in choosing happiness. For me,
they are not idiots, but for me they are smart men. They had inspired
so many lives just by watching and understanding the moral behind this
movie. And this movie, is one of my favorite movies of all times and I
have watched it several times but every time I am watching it the
impact of this movie is still the same just like what it is to me on the
very first time I am able to watch it. I do hope that they will still
continue to make movies like this one because it is a very good movie to
recommend in all ages for it teaches us many things about life and
could inspire us in many ways.

Reformation
History

Reformation is one of the successful reforms.

The reformation was not merely a reform in religious doctrine. It involved political ,
economic, moral , philosophical and institutional changes.

There was an overemphasis on the religious and ecclesiastical aspects of this

revolution which led directly to the breaking apart of the church.

Martin Luther
a man who was given credit for the first successful break from the church
A member of the Catholic clergy and a university professor.
In 1517 he nailed on the doors of the church a set of 95 theses denouncing the
malpractices of the church such as the concentration of wealth in the churches,
monasteries, and ecclesiastical courts.
He left the Catholic Church and founded an independent church organization.
Other Protestant reformers who followed and established their own denominations were
the Calvanist, Puritans, Presbyterians, Baptist, and others.
While they had doctrinal diversities, they agreed upon the following fundamental
concepts:
(1) the interpretation of the Bible was substituted for the authority of the church
as basis of faith;
(2)individual responsibility for salvation was substituted for collective
responsibility;
(3)Gods mercy was the means to salvation;
(4) penance and works of charity as deliverances form sin could be despaired with.

Aims

The aim of education of the Protestant reformers was religious moralism living a
worthy life on earth will guarantee a glorious life hereafter.

Education ,therefore, must provide adequate training in the duties of the home,
occupation, church, and state.

Luther
- narrowed this aim by directing it to religion.
- established the idea that each head of state or ruler might decide for
himself and for his subjects what the established religion should be. This gave the
ruler of the state the right to determine the religion should be. This gave the ruler
of the state the right to determine the religion of his subjects.

Theocracy
- it says that since God cannot be present to rule on earth, the church
must rule according to Gods laws. In practice, the church strictly controlled
all the affairs of man-economic, political, social, religious, and educational.

Types
To attain this aim, character education was emphasized. It stressed the value of
work over play-the Protestant work ethic. They advocated universal, compulsory, and free
education. Luther not only insisted on state-found compulsory education for both sexes,
especially in the elementary level, but also compelled the parents to send their children to
school for the sake of the church and the state.

Content

The study and all skills required to understand it was the basic subject in
Protestant elementary schools. Singing, physical education, and vocational training
were important subjects in the curriculum. These were imposed upon all by church
and state.

The curricula of the Protestant secondary schools and universities were largely a
continuation of humanistic subjects such as history, mathematics, natural science,
music and gymnastic. Later on the offered scholastic theology. Jurisprudence.
Literature and culture became important subjects.

Agencies and Organization

Home
In a Calvanist home, the church authorities supervised the parents who were
obligated to see that their children attended schools and properly learned church
catechism and the habits of Christian living.
The Protestant School System was organized into three type:
Common vernacular school
Classical secondary school
The University
Vernacular Primary School

Was organized for popular education. This part of the educational system was
universal and compulsory for all, but boys and girls were taught in separate schools.

Saxony Plan

- This was the first school system in history. One of the provisions of the plan was
the establishment of a secondary school in every town under the support and
control of the state.

Melanchton

- One of the greatest scholars, made a survey in Germany the results of which
became the basis of the Saxony Plan.

Sturm of Strassberg

-another Scholar , proposed A 10-class organization, a class-a-year plan which has

become the pattern of a graded system of school organization.

Reading was usually taught by routine pronunciation of words, memorization of

answers to questions from gospel, hymns and psalms.

In the secondary level, the students had to learn rules and passages by memory.

Methods of teaching were rigid, discipline was strict and religious indoctrination
became the chief method.
