SCHOOL BASED ASSESSMENT

(SBA)
SBA is carried out throughout the three terms of
form six.
SBA is to be carried out by candidates from
government and private schools which have
been approved by the Malaysian Examinations
Council (MEC).

cont.
MEC will determine 13 compulsory experiments
and one project to be carried out by the
candidates which will be compiled in The
Teachers and Students Manual for Practical
Physics
The Teachers and Students Manual for
Practical Physics can be downloaded from
MECs Portal (http://www.mpm.edu.my) during
the first term of form six by the subject teachers
3

cont.
SBA is assessed by subject teachers in schools
during the respective terms.

Assessment of experimental skills takes

place while experiments are carried out.
Students practical work reports are also
assessed.
Assessment of project work takes place
according to the project report and oral
presentation
4

cont.
The objective of the project work is to enable
candidates to acquire knowledge and skills in
Physics using information and communications
technology as well as to develop soft skills
The soft skills are as follows:
(a)communications,
(b)teamwork,
(c)critical thinking and problem solving,
(d)flexibility/adaptability,
5

cont.
(e)leadership,
(f) organising,
(g)information communications and technology,
(h)moral and ethics.
