Increased transformer life

The 118L uses digital micro processing technology to control cooling of your
transformer for extended transformer life.
Accuracy is held across the complete range of environmental and power supply
extremes.
A manual fan control button gives you the ability to override presets and turn
on the cooling.
One relay is provided for fan control and a second for alarms, while a third relay
controls additional alarms or trips the transformer off line when temperature
settings are exceeded. Nonstandard conditions such as sensor failure are signaled
by a fourth relay.

Remote communication and control

An optional RS485 data link enables remote communication utilizing MODBUS

RTU protocol. Your 118L will become part of a digital automation system.
An optional mA output loop connects to a SCADA system for remote
data access.

Peace of mind through fail-safe

operation

Sealed membrane UV stabilized front panel.

Approved per Declaration of Conformance, CE.
Continuous self-diagnostics keep you informed and our equipment protected.
Loss of power will operate the fault alarm. The alarm and trip relays can also be
configured to operate on power failure.

Maximized transformer reliability

Protected to withstand surges, electrical noise, radio frequencies and electromagnetic

interference.
The 118L detects abnormal conditions and places transformer in safe operating
condition with fans on and fault alarm on so the transformer can continue
to function.
A fan exerciser, if activated, periodically turns the fans on for short intervals to
prevent seizure of the fan motor bearings.
A test function shows stored set points, and tests the digital display.

Ease of installation and use

A standard RS232 data port allows you to quickly link to a computer to configure
parameters using Qualitrol-supplied software (KIT-118L-1). The setup program is
simple to operate.
The mA loop output can easily be set to either 0-1 to 4-20 mA via the front
panel or the RS232 data port.
Highly readable scrolling LCD display.
Easily understood display icons indicate relay status at a glance.
The universal power supply accommodates a wide range of supply voltages.
